you should always take hi outside before you bring it in and then you should alwys leave the ee pad in one place so that heknows where it is.

And you could also hold him by the collar on the pee pad and pat the pad whle saying hurry up or get busy.

always have a treat at hand but dont let him get distracted by it.

When he does his business in the place you want him to give him the treat and praise him like its the best thng in the world.

hope this works. my dog has the same problem.

Pee pads are tough because they essentially teach the dog that it's okay to go inside. It's much easier for the dog to understand the difference between INSIDE and OUTSIDE than it is for him to understand the difference between a pee pad and carpet.

Try making sure you are purchasing ones that have the pheremone in them - those are supposed to help draw the dog to it. I'm attaching a potty training article link, but it's specifically for use outside - you'll need to modify it for indoor use. Instead of taking him outside, leash him and lead him to the pee pad, and stand there with him until he goes. Leave the soiled pee pad if possible, as the smell of his urine will encourage him to use it next time.

Also try laying down a bunch of pee pads next to each other so they cover the entire area. Once he gets used to going on them, you can start gradually removing them one a a time until just one is left.
