May the peace, blessings and mercy of God be upon you
Yes, prayer is mandatory, I must say when the days I am able to make all 5 prayers you feel an aura which is undescribable, it is complete positive energy all I can say.
How can we be annoyed by submitting to God? It only takes 5 minutes to pray, and maybe a few minutes if you need to purify first.
You should pray once you get home.
Halal food is not that hard to find, depending on where you life. But there are some rulings that you may eat Grocery Store meat and bless it when you are cooking it.
I do not speak arabic, although I know how to read it phonetically. I an First-Generation American Born Muslim, to Pakistani Parents.
What should be mandatory? Arabic, you only need to learn the words for prayer (this is a must)
I am not a girl, but I know many girls who do, and some who don't.
If anyone mis-uses quotes without knowledge, then it may seem to them like that. But If You PM me with any specific verse I can show you what it really means, from the explanation of Ibn Kathir (which is from the 1300's).
You should try and find at least another Muslim and make the prayer, although you should realize their is leniency in praying while travelling (another Mercy of God)
The Terrorists are Criminals who have gone astray, God will judge them for their crimes. No Scholar of Islamic Jurisprudence would ever support their deviant views.
Please read this page, a Scholar of Islam Jurisprudence proves why the claims of the Deviant Group "Al-Muhajiroun" are incorrect

Ok, if you live far from a Mosque, well you should go there to make your Shahadah (pronoucement of faith) You can pray at home, office wherever.
First thing you need to do is learn how to pray
http://www.islamicfinder.org/prayer/index.html
That site has lots of information

Must have book marked site
And when you feel ready, you should study the Qu'ran even a half hour a day before bed
http://www.tafsir.com
- This is the explanation of the Qu'ran with Authentic Hadith and factual history from the Classic Scholar Ibn Kathir, the best explanation of the Qu'ran
I have this volume in Book form but Online it just as good (and its free)
Peace Be With You and May Allah make your journey to Islam easy, may he increase his blessings on you, may he protect you from the whisperings of Satan, and protect us all from the trials of the life.

Good Luck, Brother

Masha Allah
Do you keep the prayer times? yes most of us keep them n the fridge or you can have a system on the computer to tell you when prayer is.
If so do they annoy you ever get in the way of your work? No, it is work that gets in the way of prayer, there is nothing more important than Allah.
What do you do if you are in the middle of Rush hour and its prayer time? You have to find a way to pray it is an absolute must, never miss prayer
Do you have a hard time eating Halal/ finding the meat?I love eating Halal because you know that it's completely clean of bad meat, and there is always a halal market nearby where I live.
Do you speak Arabic? Somewhat, you don't have to learn thw whole language, just to pray, a few surahs and sayings, like before you eat, alhumdulillah (thank you Allah) bismillahi rahmani raheem (in the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful )
Do you think it should be madatory? It is mandatory, and I think it should be.
Do you wear the head converings? Only the women have to. I personally do not but am trying to get the courage to.
Do you think that the Quran supports violence, give quranic evidence? No, I don't i think it is fair, actualy if you read the Qur'an, it is completely against violence.
What do you do if its friday, you are on vacation and there isnt a mosque nearby? You do whatever you can, frankly, I don't have an answer to theat, because I'd go somewhere that has a mosque on Thursday, stay overnight and go Friday.
What do you think of terrorists using the Quran to justify their violence? I think it's barbaric, and I wish people wouldn't judge us for something happening half way around the world. A martyr is someone who dies for their religion meaning if you preach or something then someone kills you for that, thats a martyr, if you practice as a muslim and someone kills you for that, thats a martyr, so don't listen to all this about killing other people and being a martyr, cause its not true.
I hope I helped, God bless you for thinking about this.

I am a Muslim
1- I Try to keep the prayer time as much as I can. Yes some times it get in the way of my work by I still try to keep making it on time.
2- For the meat it depends on where you live. I mean in Egypt it is available but when I were in the USA I was told that the most important thing to observe is that the animal is slaughtered from the neck which was the case there so I was eating meat from the supermarket. Although NOT EVERYONE would agree with that
3- I am a native speaker of Arabic
4- But to become a Muslim you are encouraged to learn Arabic but not a must
5- The head covering is for ladies only.
6- Quran does not support violence Muslim history is filled with stories which shows the non violent nature of Islam and my answer on that yahoo question might help you understand that better
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Auk8_JibstdlXaYsD.qZvyDsy6IX?qid=20070121084505AA0w0cp&show=7#profile-info-92fc4824d7521323da27a40fba4fb755aa
7- There is nothing you can do. Unless you know a punch of Muslims around you and you all come together and do the prayer
8- They are mistaken and giving Quran, Islam and Muslims a bad image. the 9/11 attacks were condemned by every know TRUSTWORTHY Muslim Scholar.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have further questions.

It is good to make the prayer at its earliest and i try to do that. But if i miss any prayers in the day then i make it up in the night.
Well sometimes prayers get in between work if i have long meetings or am very busy. But usually i try to combine Zuhr and Asr prayer at work and it takes less than 10 minutes which is much better than the hour lunches many people take.
Where i live its not difficult to find halal meat as their is a large Muslim community over here. But even if there was none available near by then i would still be cautious while eating outside. i.e i would eat vegetarian food instead of meat.
I don't speak Arabic but i understand some. Of course i can read Arabic as i can read Quran. It is required to learn Arabic at least so you can offer your prayers, but till you are learning Arabic you can pray in your language.
Quran only supports violence in self-defense that too it stresses on peace all the time.
If its Friday and there isn't a Mosque nearby then you can pray it as a regular Zuhr prayer but if you are with a group then someone who is knowledgeable can probably give sermon and make it a regular Friday prayer.
Terrorists do take verses out of context, they are no different from non-Muslims who take the same verses to say that Islam is violent. If taken out of context then they will see that attacking is only allowed in self-defense.

What do you do if you are in the middle of Rush hour and its prayer time? There are a few hours between prayers and you can pray anytime between prayers.
Do you have a hard time eating Halal/ finding the meat? Just look for products labeled Kosher
Do you speak Arabic? I am still learning. But I mainly speak English
Do you think it should be mandatory? All prayers are in Arabic because that is the language of the Quran. Yes it should remain that way.

Nice questions will try to answer them with short answers.
Yes you should care about your 5 daily prayers. It is nice if you pray at a mosque, but if you dont find any, no big deal. You can pray anywhere but supposed to be clean.
.
No, they are not annoying,,,,think about them. God give you everything, why should it be so annoying to thank him 5 times a day that does not take you more than 10 minutes.
.
Vegetables are all halal, yes it is difficult to find Halal food everywhere, but believe me you will never starve to death to find Halal food.
No I don't speak Arabic, but I planning to take Arabic classes as soon as I am done with Spanish.
Arabic is not mandatory, but if you learn it will make it easy for you to understand Quran and Hadith.
.
I am a guy, so, I dont wear a head scarf.
.
No, Quran Never support violence. Islam is taken from the root word salama or something which mean Peace.
The only place where Quran will allow people to fight is when it is for defense reason, insuring security or justice.
Islam is a religion of Peace but today a lot of people are brainwashed. They think it is all about violence, when they don't know anything about Islam.
.
Quran never tells Muslims to harm others, they will face Allah (god) on the day of judgment and they will be ask for any harm he/she did to others.
.
Hope it was helpful........

Yes. Compulsory.
No. U can plan when to perform your prayer during the praying timing. For, Musafir, travellers, U are allowed to put 2 prayers to be performed in one prayer timing -Jama'
If U are in a rush for a very crucial or critical course, U can differ or procrastinate, or do it later ( within the prayer timing ).
No. U could fast if U wish should there be no Halal food or U could get things prepared if U know that there is no Halal food in that place or take something like egg, bread, canned food ( Oat meal ) or any of kinds kind that's available in your area.
Not necessarily be, but if U could it is an advantage.
What do U mean / Mandatory in what?
For female compulsory, for male optional.
In certain aspect, example, to defend yourself, family, religion and country.
Just perform the normal prayer in your Hotel room.
They are doing it with their own purpose, However, partly they are also defending Islam from insult and discrimination.
Do convert yourself to Islam - the True Religion - U make the correct choice. U are always welcome and be guided to the correct path.

I work full time. I keep always pray 5 times. I do also night pray and other sunnah pray. I read Qur'an and translation coz i don't know about Arabic. Even covering hair but i am fashionable. Thanks i'm living in indonesia. Democratic country. I have so many friend from different religion and culture. I try my best to eat only halal food. And THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is i really appreciate what other people believe even they are atheist. Because that's not our rights to judge people by their religion or they believe. Its doesn't matter what religion you have but you have to responsible with your religion. If you are Christian then go to the church every week, not only for Christmas day. If you are a moslem than do 5 times pray, do fasting, etc. If you are Budha than do what budha religion teach. If you make a related that terrorist is a moslem, then thats totally wrong. Hitler is not moslem but he kill so many jewish. I able mention more.

im not muslim but im gettin these answers from my husband who is
1 -no i dont
2- prayer doesnt get in the way of work becuz the rules of islam -if ur doing something important u dont have to pray at that certain time -for instance a doctor doing a surgery wouldnt stop the operation to go and pray-
God doesnt need your prayer for "him" to be God. Prayer is for your good. He is already the creator
3-same answer
4-No, you can say "in the name of God i am eating Halal", as long as it is not pork. becuz the sticker that says its halal could just be a sticker
5-Yes, Arabic/French/English
6-No, i guess u are talkin abt speakin arabic to convert to theMuslim beliefs
7-No, im a male, females wear scarves ( to keep their beauty for their husband only to see and to keep private from onlookers) i dont know if u get me. hard 4 me to translate
8-NO,Quran supports fighting for your rights to death. " eye for and eye", "one by one"
9- Duh, pray in your home, on a plane, on the train, in a "church" if its clean. Islam religion allows u to pray anywhere if it its clean. NOT in a bathroom.
10-WHAT- how do u answer that question. your already describing the person in a negative manner, "terrorist." Not a muslim fighter.
The Quran can never be used to justify any type of violence. Neither can 10 hail mary's

If you can live with the fact that the Qur'an has significant errors, then you could be a Muslim. For me, that would be silly; I require to live by a code which I can prove is correct. I do so.
