I used to see a girl that had a bit of a lazy eye- it kinda wandered off on it's own or didn't always match up with the other one. I found it kind of intriguing and cute - she had starry eyes. I am not sure how severe your problem is, but the reason people tease is do to their own insecurities. If you want it corrected, get a good job and save up money - it can be corrected and then everyone can kiss your *** - which if you think about it, they can now right?

Strabismus is caused by a lack of coordination between the eyes. As a result, the eyes look in different directions and do not focus at the same time on a single point.

In most cases of strabismus in children, the cause is unknown. In more than half of these cases, the problem is present at or shortly after birth (congenital strabismus).

In children, when the two eyes fail to focus on the same image, the brain may learn to ignore the input from one eye. If this is allowed to continue, the eye that the brain ignores will never see well. This loss of vision is called amblyopia, and it is frequently associated with strabismus.

Some people with strabismus never get treatment and are not advised to do so and do fine. My brother was born with strabismus and has never been treated. He is a genius in the music field and has never had a problem.
If others tease you, just ignore them and know that they have a lot of growing up to do.

Apparently they think you are responsible and you can control it if you try a lot harder.
Kind of like teasing someone for being thin, or fat, or tall, or short- there's not a lot you can do about it but people feel obligated to remind you of a prominent physical feature.
Just be polite and if people are REAL jerks drawl "Well, how very KIND of you to point that out- I'm sure none of us has ever noticed before." in a tone that lets them know they are going beyond the realm of polite. And if they get harrassing- report it as harrassment.
Because ppl who do that are NOT friends.
Good luck.

they are just rude and stupid.
my son was born with crossed eyes. the doctor claimed that it will cause major vision problems, and signs were showing when he couldn't walk at 14 months. he had surgery to correct the problem, and he recovered very well. within a couple of days, he was walking just fine. but, about the time he was in 1st grade, one eye became lazy again and started moving upward, and the warning from the eye doctor was that his brain will get confused and learn to turn the eye off to make sense...in some sort of way, but anyway, the trick was to cover the good eye, forcing him to use the lazy eye to strengthen it. within 6 months he was just fine and now at 17, he is a very intelligent young man getting ready for college.
see an eye doctor to make sure you are not experiencing vision problems that you may not be aware of. stick your tongue out at those who tease. it isn't funny.
