What are the most common reasons teens give in to peer pressure?

I'm doing a science fair project on what the most likely cause of Peer Pressure is and would greatly appreciate websites that I could go to that say what the most likely cause is, maybe they've done a survey or something similar? PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!! I really can't find any sites with that information. Thank you for your time.

to belong and fit in, to feel like they r the same and not different.adolescence is a time of belonging and fitting in when u want to be like your friends and do what they are doing.a time when you want to experience new and different things.

well i sont know of any webstes but ill just give you a few reasons
1 - to look cool (i.e. when smoling u might feel like a cool person b/c u are acting like an adult or even if someone forces u into a sport u might think that b/c that sport has cool players, u will be cool like them 2)
2- to make friends
3- if ur feeling depressed , u might think that if u use a drug, it will help u relieve urself of w/e pain u r feeling
etc....

Here's a couple answers for your science project.

Lack of self-respect

"Everybody's doing it"

To be popular with the boys (or girls)

To be liked (or "respected")
