Trust me, you never NEED a boyfriend.
If and when you become ready to have a boyfriend, you will want one, and nobody will have to tell you what the advantages are of having one.
If you don't see any advantages to having aboyfriend, that is because for you, right now, there are no advantages to having a boyfriend.
Boyfriends can provide companionship, and various forms of male-female satisfaction. Obviously, you have enough companionship, and are not looking for that kind of boy-girl statisfaction. It is true that in high school, having a boyfriend also has a few other benefits. Having a boyfriend can lead to an increase in popularity. However, this is far from guaranteed to work.
Some people feel that there is never any need for a boyfriend unless you are looking for a husband some time in the future.
Some people never feel the need for a boyfriend at all. There are people who do not date, who remain single all their lives. A few of these are bitter over some past incident, but most simply have no desire for men. Some of them spend the extra time in religious activities.
Some also prefer girlfriends over boyfriends. Most of these people are men (As a man, I definitely prefer girlfriends!) but there are women who feel the same way.
Having a boyfriend, or any other kind of partner comes with problems, which you may be aware of. Parents may become suspicious, or worry that you don't know enough about sex, or the nature of men. Some parents push for you to stay with the boyfriend, even if things aren't working out, and may even pressure you to marry.
Boyfriends also have their own demands. They may want to spend more time with oy than is possible, and can interfere with your school work, job, or home life. Many people feel that men are only after one thing, and while that is often the case, a lot of us have other demands.
Also, not all boyfriends are created equally. Some are real dirt bags, and may cheat on you, lie about what they've done with you and give you a bad reputation, or do stupid things to make you jealous.
Some will get tired of the relationship, but be unwilling to actually vreak up, and instead treat you like crap in the hopes that you will break up on your own.
There's a lot of drama that can come with a boyfriend, and unless you're really ready to deal with some of that, and still feel that having a boyfriend is worth it anyway, you do not need a boyfriend, and you definitely don't want one.
Best of luck, and remember that the choice is yours.

It has a lot of advantages; someone to talk to, someone who cares about, loves, respects and understands you. Love is a beautiful thing to have, but it can wait. It's better to wait and let it happen naturally and find someone you really love and who really loves you than to be in a relationship merely for the sake of being in a relationship. I'm 27 and in my second relationship and first REAL one and it was totally worth the wait. So just be patient and it will come. You can still hang out with guys, though. Who knows? Maybe a good guy friend could be boyfriend potential. You never know. But I guess it's really more a question of if you WANT a boyfriend now than if you need one.

honestly it depends on the type of person you are. if you are not independent and u need someone to make you feel special and beautiful then by all means have a boyfreind. im sixteen and trust me i have had my share of guys..it always turns out the same way they take up too much of ur time, u lose timw with ur other friends. it takes alot of dedication and sacrifice. uinless you kknow what you want 24/7 then don't have a bfd because they get jealous and then if or when you break up they will try and make ur life a living hell so you will take them back, or the will cheat and lie to you and try and find something better...so either way you end up hurt

My g/f is 16 an we have a really good relationship (lotsa sex 2 ;).
But by the question ur asking u sound like u are not mature enough to be in a real relationship anyway.
If you want to be "cool" and be able to kiss n cuddle in the movies an such then go for it.
But no.. u dont NEED a boyfriend

well look at it through mmy eyes for a second.... i went to a really nice high school ( girls got mustangs and bmws for their sixteenth birthdays, and the cheearleaders always had boyfriends) and i didnt lose my vi**nity until i was out of high school...now i hear horrible stories of the things those girls did, because the men wont kep their mouths shut, they love to brag... and whe they lok at me, i look like the clean little nagel i am , so i dont think the question is that do you want a boyfirend its how would you be viewed if you did have a boyfriend at so young an age, maybe five years or ten years later when some man wants to marry you....?? good luck in your decision

the only person that truly knows is you need a bf now or not is you. having a bf doesn't really have any advantages it's just someone to talk to and be there but it's not neccessary.

No you don't but it would nice to have one. I'm 14 and i want a GF not for the sake of having one, but to love. If you want a BF to love at your age then go ahead. JUST MAKE SURE HE DOESN'T GET IN YOUR PANTS. But don't be in a rush to date.

No, unless you want someone to spend time with, talking, laughing, making out and loving. Although you can do most of that with a friend, there is no "need" just want, it's all up to you.
