I've used turbo tax for the past 2 years (or tax seasons rather). I found it very easy and I didn't have to finish it all in one sitting. I haven't filed yet this year but I plan to use it again for this season as well. It can be done in a day, there are a series of questions you answer yes or no to, and if you qualify for something it'll ask more detailed questions, otherwise you'll skip all irrelevant questions. From the point in which I chose to send it out after completion, I opted for direct deposit and rapid return which was provided by a bank in santa monica, Ca. It takes exactly 10 days to have federal deposited and I think it was only a week for my state taxes. You receive an email as soon as your taxes are approved, state was always the quickest and was only a matter of a few days. However, because rapid refunds are pretty much loans that give you what you're predicted to get plus their bank fees, the 10 day direct deposit for federal taxes is unavoidable. I think the entire process cost me $60 something dollars that could be deducted from my return.

I used it for the first time on 01/30/07 (wed)-it was really easy-you can have the fee-which was around $60.00 (for state and fed) taken out of your refund or pay by charge card. It took me about 45 Min's. I chose direct deposit and they said it should be in my account on the 9th of Feb. It was very simple. I guess i didn't read all the fine print b/c i thought it was only going to be 29.95..... but it was worth 60.00 b/c i had been going to Jackson Hewitt and paying an outrageous amount for a RAL. If this really only does take 9 days that would be great!

TurboTax works reasonably well if your return isn't overly complex. For instance, if you're heavy into stock trading, or dealing with employer stock options, etc., I don't think TurboTax would be my first choice.
As far as the speed of your refund, your software program doesn't have much to do with that. If you e-file or use direct deposit, you'll get your refund faster than if you mail the return.

there is not something unfastened on the obtain/CD facet. you would be able to desire to pay for the utility, then load it on one among your desktops. on the web facet, the sole extremely unfastened centers are the liberty version and the Federal unfastened version. you would be able to desire to be a qualified person and refuse any enhancements and extras like audit secure practices. in any different case, you will could desire to pay for the service, the two Federal and State. The buttons say "initiate for unfastened." this facilitates you to plug on your numbers and notice what they appear like on your proposed return. whilst it's time to report (the two on paper or efile) you would be asked to pay. fee shows delight with the approach, so refund processing that takes too long to end isn't a valid rationalization for a cost refund from TT. in case you do not understand what tax implications there are for a clean agencies, i does not propose utilizing tax prep utility. you extremely choose expert tax help. it is extremely unquestionably worth the money.

if you file electronically using turbotax and have your refund directly deposited into your bank a/c, then you could receive your money within a week.
