This ought to be an interesting set of responses....

Here's mine.....

Religion HAD to develop as man was searching for answers. At first, man was fascinated with the moon, stars, and sun - and gave these objects deity status.

It would be very interesting to have seen the Roman Empire be the bridge between inanimate Gods and the state/Republic - pretty big bridge I guess as man-made religion has surely withstood the test of time better than any state/Republic has.

Well, except China that is and I think they have their own set of beliefs as well.

Let's see. The Christian religion started all of the early colleges here. It also started the modern concepts of hospitals. There would be no Red Cross, a Christian organization. There would be no Salvation Army, another Christian organization. The Boy Scouts are a Christian organization, so we can scratch them. I guess most of the people here are right, the world would be different without religion.

I would say chaos. Because a man is as capable as his imagination. If there were no rules a man is capable of anything. It would be a Mad Max world. Even though its on the edge of chaos now. That's only because religion is split like ends. Contradicting each other when they all are based on the same thing....Spiritualism.

We'd be in about the same place, I expect. We'd still be the same humans, plagued by the same uncertainty and compelled to gather into groups that oppose groups that believe other than we do. We'd still try to seize the resources of other people and we'd manage to find some way to justify it.

Not nearly as far advanced as we are today. Religion served a cultural purpose, but its days are numbered. My opinion is that the fanatacism you see today indicates its twilight.
