Well Abreva Is wonderful! Its a very small tube, at walmart, but cost about $12.
Ok..Vitamin B, is excellent for curing cold sores, which is whole grains, and grean leafy veggies...
Ok, Lysene..you can get it in the vitamin section..Lysene will cure a cold sore, and if you take them regularly you will never get another cold sore again..Lysene is like the miracle vitamin..as far as cold sores..It keeps you from getting them...But if its already there it will help it to go away...
I used to get them all the time, and my doc had me take lysene..I always got them at the same time of year..but I take lysene around that time each year now, and havent had one since..
Hope this helps..

Oh my god.Don't u know that medicines will actually damage ur immune systen while getting rid of the cold sore??That's why most people experience side effects such as headaches which isn't a good sign.
I used to take medicines whenever i had a cold as a child and gradually,it made me weaker--even easier to catch cold. Then,a dietician friend of mine told me that natural treatment was the best.He introduced to me two most important vitamin supplements that help prevent and cure cold sore, namely vitamin C and aged garlic extract. Now,whenever my throat or nose starts to tickle,i eat a dozen of them(these aren't harmful no matter how many u eat cuz they r water-soluble)and in no time, the cold symptoms go away.
There was also this time when i got a nasty fever and my temperature got up to 38.7 degree celcius.I was lying in bed moaning about the terrible headache and my sore muscles.Luckily,i got vitamin C and aged garlic extra so i popped them in and on the next morning,i felt much better--at least i could walk around with only a lil dizziness.U can buy the two supplements in the supermarkets i guess but they aren't found in pharmacies cuz they aren't medicines.
There are also other choices but are much more expensive such as those containing enzymes(sounds weird right?cuz i forgot the product name, sry!).We will die without enzymes. They are what make u able to read this passage, make u talk, breathe, type, think,,,,etc. They give u energy and that's why they r crucial for your cold sore recovery.
There is also one thing u must remember is that when people tell u that there's no need to buy supplement pills since many foods contain the vitamins,i can tell u that this isn't true. This is becoz foods only contain very little vitamins unless u eat a basket of oranges to get enuf amount of vitamin C ur body needs each day. That's impossible and that's why vitamin pills are necessary. The vitamins u need r concentrated in these tiny pills.
To recover faster,u must also avoid savoury, sugary and oily food since these are hard to digest and take up much energy of the body.Plain eating is always the best way to save energy plus plenty of water and my praying for u,u'll surely win this battle!

Taking a zinc or lysine supplement is a good healer for cold sores. Also applying Campho Phenique to the cold several times daily should help. If the cold sore is in the mouth, rinsing your mouth with hydrogen peroxide a couple of times a day will help too. At least it works for me.

You can get pills to prevent cold sores all together. It's called Valtrex. Same stuff one uses for genital herpes, but works like a charm for herpres simplex as well (i.e., cold sores).
You can increase your intake of vitamin c (increases healing) and stay out of the cold and wind (could spread your sore and dry it out too much).

Abreva works ok but it usually works faster if you put it on before the cold sores breaks out. It's OTC.

Buy some Blistex and put it on the sore every half hour. If you cant do it that often just put it on as often as you can. It's really good medicine. You should be able to find it at any drugstore.

I heard that mixing aloe and teatree oil is great for it. He uses it even before it pops up all the way and it stops it from forming. Good luck!
