and now it is forming a bump on the inside... its not round though, its like a line kind of... and it hurts if i squeeze it or anything of that nature... it is also red on the outside... and i am in believeing that it is infected, but my friend (who had tons of piercings) says that it is just healing..

HELP!

i'm not sure, but that doesn't sound good nor like something that really would want to have on the inside of your mouth!!

check with a doctor.... if u have ANY thoughts that it isn't healing right or could be infected, get it checked out!!

its better to be safe, rather than having an infected lip!!!

also, make sure that u r taking proper care of it (cleaning it, etc)!

Use any antibacterial mouthwash, such as Listerine or Scope, 3 to 4 times a day to help the healing process. Avoid smoking, and don't drink alcohol or eat spicy foods until the piercing site is fully healed.
Clean jewelry with alcohol or hot, soapy water.
Use of an antibiotic ointment has not been shown to affect healing. If you choose to use an antibiotic ointment, such as polymyxin B sulfate (for example, Polysporin) or bacitracin, apply the ointment lightly to the wound. A swelling of any kind is a sign of infection. If does not respond definitely see a DR.
