I agree and half the stories were written hundreds of years later. Ever heard of the telephone game the story always ends up different at the end doesn't it.

Some parts were written by what we might refer to today as "automatic writing." Other parts were written by scribes who recorded the words which God spoke directly through the prophets.
Still more was written under direct spiritual inspiration; which is almost always only a few degrees removed, if not tantamount, to audible revelation.
Many people, who have never been opened to contact with spiritual reality, think that the Bible was written in the same manner as they themselves might sit down and write a novel, screen play, personal diary or school essay.
You cannot just say "written by humans" without adding "by humans moved by the Holy Ghost." Without the latter, the Bible would be worthless as any modern media for the needs of spiritual men and women or instruction in Godliness.

The Bible is not the most reliable document ever written by humans - how could it be when humans are hardly reliable.
Despite the fact that it is full of errors and contradictions, was decidedly constructed with a political agenda in mind, has been subject to all sorts of outlandish interpretations, and still inspires the idiotic and unthinking masses to say and do decidedly unChristian things, it is a valuable addition to the world's philosophies of life and living.
Read it. Take what makes sense to you and apply it to your life. Leave others the freedom to do the same - or not.

How can BIBLE be the MOST RELIABLE DOCUMENT ever when it was written by HUMANS?
answer: men scribed the words of the Bible, prophets,Apostles, Ill under the guide and direction of the Holy Spirit.
but your more likely interested in the secular evidence.
1.like the Bible is far and away the best selling book of all time
2. the most widely read of all time
3. translated in more languages than any other book.
4. 40 seperate men through hundreds of years all writing the same truths in the same spirit. with out contradictions.
(people think star trek is amazing for it fictional continuity)
5. science continues to prove the very things the Bible has taught for thousands of years. (like dna now proves we all came from one woman)
these are a few off the top of my head their are amny more you can find if you would do more than criticise. I challange you to put that keen crictical mind to constructive use. truly study the matter in with all the objectivity you have. see if the Bible or the Bible critic is able to stand the weight of historical and mathmatical probabilityies through out the thousands of years the Bible has been around.

The Original Bible was the Gospel of Barnabas.
But the Modern Day Church have altered the original concepts and have fabricated the Concept of Trinity. The Gospel of Barnabas accounts for Strict Monotheism. And states that GOD is ONE NOT in 3 forms as the Trinity.
The Gospel of Barnabas also accounts that Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him) was 100% human. He was a messenger of GOD NOT son of GOD.
But then the Gospel of Barnabas is NOT found in today's Bible as it was written by Paul and corrupted later on by the CHurch.
Read the Book which affirms the Original Message of the Christ.
Read the Book that was sent as the Last and Final Uncorrupted message from GOD.
Read the Book that was sent by GOD and has been NOT changed since 1428 years.
Read the Book that is 100% compatible with established Scientific facts.

Reliability is based on textual criticisms that are used for all historical documents such as how many copies of the original writings can be found, how much do they agree, what is the difference in time between the extant copies and the actual events, are they historically accurate, etc. The Bible passes all these tests better than any other book of antiquity.
ADDITION:
It is hard to give a full answer to this question coming from a person who doesn't like long answers. I have received two thumbs down I guess because I stated that the Bible passes the tests of reliability more than any other book. I would like someone to show me another work that even compares.

General info on the Bible
1. The Bible consists of 66 books: 39 in the OT and 27 in the new. The Bible took about 1600 years to write. It was written in three languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek) by about 40 authors and is internally consistent throughout.
Reliability of the Bible
1. The Bible is 98½ percent textually pure. Through all the copying of the Biblical manuscripts of the entire Bible, only 1½% has any question about it. Nothing in all of the ancient writings of the entire world approaches the accuracy of the biblical documents.
2. The 1½ percent that is in question does not affect doctrine. The areas of interest are called variants and they consist mainly in variations of wording and spelling.
3. The NT has over 5000 supporting Greek manuscripts existing today with another 20,000 manuscripts in other languages. Some of the manuscript evidence dates to within 100 years of the original writing. There is less than a 1% textual variation in the NT manuscripts.
4. Some of the supporting manuscripts of the NT are:
1. John Rylands MS written around 130 A.D., the oldest existing fragment of the gospel of John
2. Bodmer Papyrus II (150-200 A.D.)
3. Chester Beatty Papyri (200 A.D.), contains major portions of the NT
4. Codex Vaticanus (325-350 A.D.), contains nearly all the Bible.
5. Codex Sinaiticus (350 A.D.), contains almost all the NT and over half of the OT

That is a good one. It would be a great help if you would learn the Hebrew language. After that study every book of the bible. Then study the Sopherim. The Sopherim is called a Fence to scriptures. It was designed so that the scriptures could not be changed. To be Hebrew scribe was a extremely serious job. The scribes dedicated their lives to the perfection of record keeping. If the smallest mistake was made they had to destroy the manuscript. I suggest buying a Companion Bible and Introduction to the Hebrew bible

Who said it was the most reliable? Martin Luther wrote the Bible holds the WORD of GOD like the manger held the Christ. The reliability of the Word fo God comes from the transformed lives.

Liar, you do not wish to be enlightened. Nor do you wish long answers on a "book" you do not believe. Try not asking questions you do not wish an answer to.
I try to give a real answer every time and it can go long, but I try to make it count. I use the Bible to back up where I am coming from as a Christian.
You seem to be a bitter person and like to demean those that do not share your Agnostic belief in God.

It's not that it was written by humans that's wrong (since it was inspired by God), it's that throughout the ages it's been modified by humans as well. Not only that, there are several if not dozens of different versions of the Bible as well.
I'll come back to this question to see the answers but I feel that the answers will be the same as I've already heard.
