End this now if it isn't working...Continuing on will only make it harder...So end it now before more feeling gets put into this relationship....There is no easy way to do this and someones feeling will get hurt, no way for that not to happen....

Do NOT keep this dragging on - because if you continue to put it off because of holidays and dances - then you'll never break up with her.
Do it NOW and don't worry about it - she'll still have time to find someone else for Valentine's Day and the dance.
No matter who breaks up with who - it does hurt - but life isn't always nice either. Grow a back bone and move on.

Honestly, it would absolutly suck to dump her right now! If you went to the dance and she saw you dancing with another girl she would be heart broken! Atleast wait till after the Birthdays and The Dance.
Just hang in there, you'll be fine.
But when you do break up with her, just tell her that you guys were better friends, and that you hope that you can still be friends. Also if you are still in high school just explain that you are still young and that there is someone better than you out there for her. Give her hope!
Good Luck!

the way your thinking isn't an option when dealing with this type of issue, if your looking at a calender to pick the best date to deal out your trump card your thinking more than your should. just start off being honest with her, tell her your true feelings and try slowing things down a bit at first, this may be just what you need, unless your seeking another to fill the upcoming void? hurt is in the future with no way around it, be a man and do your best, try talking to her, think everything over prior to opening your mouth, you may be letting go of someone you'll see was the one for you in time, don't start the bridge on fire just yet... best of luck.

Give her her b-day gift, and then after (or b4) give her a card and say it's late or early, but tell her not to read it until you aren't around! (just in case...) then in the card tell her you just want to be friends, and you'll still take her to the dance (it might help!) then when (and if) she calls/texts you, tell her you're sorry, you just don't feel the same way you used to about her. ALSO give her LOTZ of space and time!!

You have to tell her... Whatever you do, do not use the "I'll fade away and let her get over me" aproach. It's much more painful, believe me. Girls prefer a direct approach. Sure, it'll hurt. There's no way you can avoid this... But at least you'll both know where you stand.

Just tell her. But, I hope you aren't planning on taking someone else to the dance, that would be mean. It is going to hurt her no matter what, but she'll get over it.
