No. I see it as more proof to believe in my faith. If you knew of someone who walked on water, or someone who came back from the dead, wouldn't you think there was something important about them? I dunno... maybe that's just me...

A good Epicopalain is an atheist every Thursday they say.

C.S. Lewis (who wasn Anglican, too) said there were days when Christianity seemd absurd, and there were other days when everything else but Christianity seemed absurd.

The accounts in Genesis don't have to be taken literally in my opinion. As for the burning bush and walking on water, I think miracles do happen. http://www.holylight.gr/agiofos/holyli.html
Jesus was "ressurected" not "reincarnated".

What I base my life on are the things Jesus and his followers said.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

And one of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, "What commandment is the foremost of all?" Jesus answered, "The foremost is, 'Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' "The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." (NAS, Mark 12:28-31)

Let's say the athiests are right. No Heaven, no Hell, no Gods, no ghosts, nothing mystical of any kind at all...if I'm wrong, what difference will it really make? When I'm dead, I'll be dead.

By being a Christian I'm happy, and I can't imagine how'd I'd be happier by being an athiest. Being a Christian makes me strive to be a better person and to treat people well and help others...not because I'll go to Hell without an electric fan, but because I know it's the right thing to do.

Is that really such a bad thing???

No, because I have no problem believing that God is, well . . . God. He can and does do amazing things. I also have no problem believing in a spiritual/supernatural world that exists outside of our 5 senses.

Are you so sure that you have seen and experienced all that there is for you?

Also, you have some of your details wrong. It was God who talked from the bush--the bush didn't talk. Jesus wasn't reincarnated, He was raised from the dead. Hmmm. I've read and studied the Bible much more carefully than you have, and I believe. Maybe the problem isn't with the Bible . . .

Sure? but I still think I may walk on water also,All things are possible if I can believe. The Bible says very plainly that God caused believe in the Bible to look foolish so I do understand God also. 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
1 Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
Here is 3 scriptures to prove God did purposely make the whole thing look foolish to mankind.
I could give you many more examples, but I for one have felt the Power of God and it is nothing to play mind games with or argue about.

Often, I mean people should wear clothes and worrying about what people will think? There are all kinds of societal constructs that we believe just because that is what we were taught that are completely ridiculous.

Success is determined by how much money you have.
Single moms are all teenagers.
People who don't like kids are unnatural.

Etc.

after considering all the pros and cons, what i believe is less rediculous than what you believe, the bush wasn't talking the son wasn't reincarnated the snake didn't talk anybody into anything they didn't already have in their heart to do and much much more.

you clearly have no children
children are inclined to blame other things for thier ills
its human nature to blame a higher power for our own failings
the word is about human nature and gods origonal that we reflect ,but that we as god must learn to master

sure some bits are hard to believe but who are we to judge
its to learn from ,to see that we wish to believe in
to see what silly things others have blamed
so we see how silly we are to blame others
to cast the first stone ,is any that good ,only god is perfect.

it was writen by the best minds of thier times ,not the best minds of all time but when we were children able to believe in things
be ye as children.,they mightent be sharp but they are true reflection of what we were before we too knew the fruits of good and evil.

Not to mention the feeding of 5 thousand people with 5 loaves and 2 fishes. Oh and the bit about turning water into wine. Doesn't say whether it was red or white though. Wish i could turn some water into beer.
