First before what? I don't understand the question. They have to make a choice between what?
There is no law that says where allegiance should lie first, nor should there be. I think someone should obey the laws of the country they reside in. That's all we should ask. Who they "like" the most is up to them. We are all citizens of the Earth FIRST.

One of the great things about living in a western country is having the freedom to make decisions like that. Inhabitants of these western countries are not forced to do anything. I think that as long as these ethnic people abide by laws and respect the freedoms of others they can show allegiance to any country they wish. I would expect these people to honor and respect the freedoms that they are fortunate enough to live under.

I think they should show alliegance first to where they were raised, and not necessarily where they were born. A lot of people come to America from many other places, and I wouldn't want them to take India, or Iraq or Iran, etc's point of view over America's. Even if our ideas and feeling are 'wrong', I think that each person that calls America 'home' should support it. After that, the country of your heritage should be where your allegiance lies.

Well besides the fact that everyone in this country probably has ancestry that originated in another country, your question seems obsolete. But if you talking about America...land of the free. Freedom to make your own choices. We should all just be concerned about ourselves.

Yes. Wait a minute Absolutely. Why would anyone leave a country they love so much and raise their foreign flag in the USA? I once heard a brown beret say "there is nothing in the declaration of independence about becoming an American". to me this is an act of war. embrace America or get out.
