I would suggest getting him two gifts - a toy/game/activity type gift that he can open and play with at the rehearsal and reception. Make it something special or that he has been wanting. I would give him a special memory gift like a silver frame that says "Our Family" and the date or something along those lines. Put a picture of the 3 of you from the wedding in the frame. This will give him something for the immediate but also give him something special to cherish as he grows up.

If you can afford it...take him on a separate "Family Honeymoon" to celebrate his special place in the new family. Maybe take him to an amusement park for one night (or whatever). Give him a picture of where he's going and tell him at the reception. I think a 6-year old would be very excited about that.

What about a piece of Jewlery like a necklace with a special inscription or the date. He may not truly appreciate it now but he will later down the road. ALso look in the back of brial magizines they have special ideals on how to include children of brides and grooms in your ceremony

if you look online you will find many gifts for ring boys and flowers girls, but that does not mean they have to be for ring boys or flower girls, they can be for any child. They are like prize packages that have to do with weddings.

If that doesnt meet your needs try an X box 360 or that new Nintendo system, you cant go wrong there.

What about a special day out for the three of you. Give him tickets to a sporting event or amusement park with a goodie bag of related items. www.customweddingsolutions.com has adorable duffle bags for little boys that come with their name on it. you could put the tickets and related items in there. Even movie tickets with a special bucket fo his own popcorn and a sports bottle for his beverage or something would be cool.

When my husbands mom got remarried our sons walke dher down and she gave them the duffles with tickets to a baseball game, a baseball, baseball glove, and bat with their name on it (bat came from CustomWeddingSolutions.com too) They

Pick out a very funny card that he will love. Write in it You have what ever Saturday You pick. On that day you will take him to eat any place he wants to any movie, or what ever he wants for the hole day.. Maybe he will want to go to toy store and get a toy but what ever he gets its something he wants.

Get him something special, engraved, like a bracelet, charm, etc. (and maybe present it to him right before or part of the ceremony) that lets him know that he is a very special part of this day as much as it is about the 2 of you. If he is the only child you want to make him feel like he is not being thrown to the side for your new relationship.
