he divorced my sister in law and abandoned her and their adopted son. What the hell? He was set up by his sister (my other sister in law) and the mail brides sister who is already here married to a 60 year old man and is an apparant gold digger. My brother in law started talking to the woman in Taiwain by phone and internet in September, when he ended it with his wife. He had been in New Orleans since Katrina and had not financially supported is wife or son, with rare visits home during 2006. He divorced his wife in December, afer he returned from a 2 week trip to Taiwain which he brought this woman back. He said he had to buy her a roundtrip ticket because of her 30 day visa. Now he has up and married her this past weekend in Louisiana by a JP against all wishes of his family. He has made statements that she will get her work visa in 6 months and become a citizen in 2 years. But he has hepitits C and does have a good prognosis and has cirrosis of the liver. How is this legal?

we are thought to let him enjoy his last days but he is very involved in a family business where these things are effecting day to dy life now. There is alot of hostility, no one treats her very welcoming because nobody trusts her becasue of how she got here. There will be legal diliemmas after he dies becasue of the son! We can't just hand everything over to her when we all have be so involed before she came in the picture. This is beyond morality, it's the legal ramifications is my main concern for my nephew.Come to find out, she has 4 school age kids, does that mean they get come here too??? He's not even paying his child support!!

It doesn't look good for you, but there are somethings to remember about this. She won't become a citizen in two years, believe me. I married a russian woman- it will be about 4 years, and it will only be a permanent residency. You can be sure it will be about 10 years before she'll be a legal citizen. Now if she has kids under 18, she'll get them here in the next two or three years... if things move fast, but if they're over 18, it will take until she's a legal citizen... 10 years from now.
There is some more good news for you. She will probably hate where she lives. I've talked to so many people who do this stuff- it helps that I did it too (and it went bad)- and the odds that they will survive more then 5 years are slim. I'd imagine that he wanted a woman that's not american, that will treat him like a real man, and respect him over everything else- but if the guy can't command that respect in american women, he won't be able to command that in a foriegn woman, and soon he will find himself just as disappointed as he was when married to your sister.
Just keep your head up and let it work itself out.

If his new wife has a husband and not divorced - the marriage is illegal.
You simply cut the man out of the family business. End of story. The man is reaping what he sows and he seems to enjoy living life in the gutter. You cant save a man who doesnt want to save himself.
Do whatever you have to do (legally! and within the confines of the law) and turn your backs on him. As for your sister - she needs to get on with her life and find someone more deserving of her.

That is screwed up!!! My ex-husband done the same thing but he sent her back after several months because she missed her family but he had to pay her family $25,000 to marry her (FROM PHILIPPINES)he thought he was going to make a slave out of her because he liked to run around and do his on thing and he wanted someone to do house work and wait on him while he was around but he is the one that ended up screwed! But i think there ought to be a law because these women train to take the american dollars

It never ceases to amaze me how complicated some people's lives are.
I'm sorry you're dealing with all that stuff.
Try to be kind - those that do evil will bring it down on themselves.
