As long as your budget can afford!! Word of advice dont skip out of accomdations for length. You can always go back and do something great. My honeymoon was for about four days because I didn't want to skip out on the accoomdation and the following year I went to the islands for seven days!

my honeymoon was kind of long, but not long all at the same time. we took 2 weeks off for the wedding and honeymoon. the first two days were preparing for the big day, then there was the wedding, the vacation in vegas for 3 days, and the rest of the time was whatever we wanted. a vacation. my sister just got married and her honeymoon was a week. it all depends on you and the time you have to spare. some people only do a weekend thing, some longer, some none at all. don't worry about comparing, do what you want.

i hope by "first honeymoon" you mean you plan on another in 10 years to keep things fresh.

i dont know what you mean by "1st" honeymoon, but the one held right after your wedding was traditionally 1 month long, hence the term honeyMOON. nowadays, its whatever is in your time and money budget. many couples go for a week, 2 week, and some lucky couples still get to go for an entire month! some couples only take a weekend, and others don't even have a honeymoon, or they dont have the time/money/etc to take one straight after the wedding. my fiance and i are going on ours 1 month after our wedding, and it will last 1 week. its really all about personal choice, but the last part of the word honeymoon, being moon, again comes from the tradition of it lasting 1 month or 1 moon cycle.

The first? Will there be another one?

A honeymoon is however long you want it to be. A lot of people think of it like a week's vacation, but I've known couples who take 2-4 weeks and tour Europe, etc. All up to you.

What do you mean by first? There is more than one? Typically a honeymoon is 7-10 days. Whatever fits your budget...
