He was a FABULOUS sleeper for 3 years, and now-- nothing. we've tried a later bedtime, shorter nap, no nap, earlier nap, later nap. The main issue seems to be getting him used to going back to his bed after he wakes up, but he's just SO resistent to the idea, and at 3am who wants to argue with a 3-year-old?

Well, try lots of exposure to the air outside. When kids can go outside and play a few hours they get really tired. Especially now, when its so cold, go out for 30 min at a time, or 15 min at a time. Walk!! If you have snow initiate a snow fight. (He can do it with help!) His body will have to work harder to keep him warm, drawing all the extra energry stored in his system!

Oh and try to give him a 1/2 of a banana 30 min before he goes to sleep. (Helps put your body in sleep mode!)

Good Luck!

Try wearing him out during the day. Take him to the park, play games with him, you know fun stuff. If he wakes up, don't argue with him. Just send him to bed and say "good night" and close the door, nothing more so he knows your serious. If he gets back up, just keep sending him to bed, but don't talk about it.

Yuck...3 AM! I have CD players in my kids' rooms and they go to bed listening to music and when they wake up in the night, I go in and comfort for a few minutes and turn the music back on to give them something to be occupied with until they fall back asleep. Hope this helps.

Possibly by wrapping him tightly with a blanket, your baby might not sleep because of temperature

Another possible explanation is because of light
make sure to close your window shutters or curtains at night

The last is noise, if you live next to a busy road, there's alot of noise from cars.
