I think the majority of atheists are in this specific area of Y! answers so you can show God how compassionate you can be in HIS name. Remember, forgive them for they know not what they do. If you truly want to be Christ-like, act like him for HIS sake!

Thank you for trying to teach common sence, now if you could practice that while Christians practice love...we'd see a lot more peace.

Are you one of those 'true' Christians I've been hearing about?

I like your way of thinking.

The best thing to do is educate them. Show them 100 million people died under athiestic communism. Show them Christians include people from Sir Issac Newton to Johnny Cash, not just Televangelists and people who burned other Christians for being witches. Cite C.S. Lewis an athiest and college professor who became a Christian, and reccomend his books.

Falling for their gags, like this one:

Only reaffirms their bigotry and stereotypes about Christians.

Jesus told the disciples if the message wasn't recieved, knock the dust off their feet and move on. Sometimes telling people "You know, Jesus really really loves you!" is not always the right thing to do. If you told someone that, don't keep telling them over and over and being a pest. It does no good and it isn't what Jesus said to do When thery ask a stupid question, (i.e., "What part of the Bible makes the best toilet paper"?) don't feel obligated to cast your pearls before swine.

The world would be a lot nicer place to live, if everybody respects each other. everybody, regardless of religion, race, educational background, profession and so on and so on, deserves respect and dignity. That's what the Bible says too. Christians have to set good examples, because Jesus has taught us to do so. just like you said Christ-like. On the other hand, Atheists or Pagan or whatever need to understand that we have the right to have our own belief.we have the right to praise and worship our God. that's the basic of Human Right. I was surprised that a lot of people TOOK ADVANTAGE OF FREE SPEACH TO SMEAR HATE by asking questions/ making statements that were very offensive to us Christians, like when Jesus comes back, we should kill him again with modern weapons. Please be considerate to others.

Are you the perfect person to be preaching? Are you loving, compassionate? Are you Christ-like? Or do you need to be forgiven yourself. No, the atheists aren't here searching. You are.

Amen, there are way to many people on here calling themselves "Christians" and then doing just the opposite with the name calling ect. You know God is love. and until you can show people love and forgiveness. You really should stop calling your self a Christian.

You know the number one cause of Atheisem today is Christianity? It's people who praise and worship him on Sunday, Then the rest of the week live for themselves. That's showing the world what Christ is like right?

Here we go again. "You don't REALLY not believe in God. You're just trying to find him."

No. Christians are regularly trying to make their dogma into law, legislate morality for everyone else, and trying to force schools to teach their fairy-tales as fact. Otherwise I'd be content to live and let live. I didn't start the battles you see me in. You guys did. That's why I'm here, fighting for fact, evidence, and reason.

How long do you think you can hold onto this idea of Christ-like Christians before you realize it is never going happen (not here or anywhere else)?

If Atheists or ANYONE else needs ME to convert them, they are already lost....I am a nobody....It is Christ that converts, I may be a vessel to maybe plant a seed, but only if it is in fertile soil. Its fine to be nice to a point, and we should always be courteous, but not at the expense of compromise and watering down the truth.

Uhmmm... Most people here have already made up their minds on religion. I'm not searching, in fact, i quit searching years ago. No, I didn't find Christianity, I found Druidism, and I'm very happy with my religion.
