Men's center of gravity is in their shoulders so they are forced towards the wall. Women's center of gravity is in their hips so it's like they are standing normally.

Women are more bottom heavy than guys who are top heavy...think about figure skating, the reason why men pick up women by their bottom is because that's where most of their weight is (bottom half of the body), and guys have more muscle in their top halves. When women lift up the chair from the wall, their center of gravity is sturdy in thier legs, but since men are top heavy there's no way that he can trasform his weight to his legs to pick up the chair at the same time.
