My Daughter is turning five this year and she HAS TO HAVE a Dog birthday party. I make her cake every year and this year seems to be a challenge. I want to make this a special cake since this is her FIFTH Birthday, so i am thiniking a Dog House bowl and bone...any suggestions of where i can go for ideas? I have two parties and thus two cakes, so twice the ideas needed.

Check out birthday express (www.birthdayexpress.com). They have some good, but expensive, ideas.

I have seen dog bone molds for cakes and cookies, so they exist. I just don't remember where I saw them.

Well, the easiest thing would be the cake. You can make your own with a novelty pan from almost any large craft store (i.e. Michaels), bakers supply shop (check your local yellow pages) and from online sources like here: http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/pans/novelty.htm

Perhaps as a fun craft for the kids to keep them occupied is to have them make their own 'dog collar'. Pick up big beads (big enough that they don't present a choking hazard) so they string some simple necklaces to wear during the party.

Invites can be in the shape of a bone - and those can be made easily at home with construction paper. You don't even need a printer for it.

Inexpensive dog bowls will also make good serving bowls for the kids cake and ice cream.

This a great idea, and there are lots of things you can do with a dog theme. Check out the website for more ideas.

my daughter had a dogs topic after seeing hotel for dogs movie very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. the ladies had this variety of tremendous number of crammed animals that were dogs that we set everywhere in the table area and went from there. We made dogs bone formed sugar cookies and that i picked up some lower priced dogs food bowls from dollar keep to carry snacks. Walmart makes the cutest dogs formed cake notwithstanding that is small so we also made a hand-crafted cake we adorned contained in the dogs topic. you would possibly want to even do a craft challenge for those getting to make there own dogs, merely have various glue, structure paper, yarn and buttons accessible. strong success

FamilyFun has some excellant ideas. I included the link below. I'm not quite sure how you would do the cake. Perhaps make a rectanguler cake and cut it in a V at the end. []> sort of, and then decorate it from there.
