Have you or are you attending a private university? And if so, how was the cost, and since it was high, how overwhelming are the loans? Can a middle - class student hope have a few extra bucks while in a private university?

I never understand why people choose a private university when there are many state colleges and university that supply educational opportunities that are equal to or superior to the best private institutions in the country. After all it wasn't only to get votes when JFK said to the students at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor "I went to Harvard, that is the Michigan of the East."

Good Luck!!!

I'm sorry to say I never had any money in University because every time I got any I spent it getting drunk out of my skull. :) To be honest, the University expereince should liberate you from feeling the need to have cash- if you've chosen a good program. Dread your hair, plant some mint for your teeth and tea, and enjoy yourself. It's about your mind.

Look into Yale. They are offering free tuition if your parents fall into a certain income range to try to diversify the population with people from all income levels.

I am not sure if the housing costs are included.
