I found this while being "open minded". http://www.nobeliefs.com/jesus.htm
If this is the kind of filth they are filling their heads with I'm not surprised they hate us. The absolute, unadulterated, and unapologetic lack of scholarship is astounding. Where is the objectivity, the hermeneutics, or even a little exegesis. This guy blatantly inserts his own ideas of morality into the reading of the text. His truly literal reading allows for no hyperbole, metaphor, or even the slightest symbolic language, common literary techniques. However, I must confess he did come to one of the only three possible interpretations, "Jesus was either a liar, a lunatic, or the Lord." C.S. Lewis, and this dude has decided on the liar, maybe the lunatic. The lack of understanding of cultural and social norms of the time is glaring. This is truly an example of ignorance and hatred of that which is good. They call us intolerant, judgmental, and hateful. From now on I'll take that as high praise.

the problem is that..
most atheists dont go to sites like that.
I, like most other atheists here, think for myself; not have others do it for me.
edit:
by the way, i as an atheist, am offended by the atheist site.
( im agreeing with you on the site)

i will comprehend why atheists worry Christians. possibly some atheists stumbled on people who suggested they have been Christians, yet do not act the way a actual Christian could. or maybe atheists think of Christianity reasons bigotry or hatred, which it would not ok I actually have a challenge with the respond i recopied above. ALL religions and ALL loss of religions reason bigotry and hatred. you're naive in case you think of they don't. What info could I even have? - The Crusades, the place Christian adult adult males went and slaughtered entire tribes of Arab human beings through fact they got here about to stay the place the Christian Holy Land substitute into. - The Westboro Baptist Church. sufficient suggested. - Liberty college and their now deceased chief Jerry Falwell. His view on the international substitute into bigoted. - Muslims hating Israel. - North Korea burning a Christian female on the stake for passing out Bibles. Am I saying that Christianity is merely perpetrating bigotry? No, they have finished lots to assist this international. yet saying they don't is ridiculous. As for the unique question, Christians make themselves prevalent each and all of the time, each and each time. they could be in the limelight. i don't see many people who're Wiccan or Pagan bringing interest to themselves in a rustic based by people who have been Christian. additionally, i did not say it incredibly is a Christian usa. it incredibly is not.

Sigh...
Why can't all the believers just still their mouths and set an example by their behaviors? Non-believers are more likely to be curious and ask you "Why are you so different than most other people I know?" If you are just a friendly, caring person that is willing to give a helping hand to someone you don't know, you will get their attention.
Nothing is ever learned by yelling or arguing. Let me give you a hint; if you try to change someone's views with an "I'm right, you're wrong!" battle, you are doomed to failure. Our job is to SHARE the gospel and LEAD others to Christ. There is no force implied.
There was, is, and always will be a division among religions. Just do what you feel is right regarding helping others to find Him.
Everyone needs to hear the gospel. Just don't use a megaphone that breaks their eardrums.
Blessings

Actually, it's reading the hatefilled filth on the Xian websites and in their books and speech that makes me dislike Xians. It's the actions I see in them (Like when they're blowing up abortion clinics, presumably in the name of gods love). The hypocrisy and the intolerance. I prefer thinking for myself, rather than letting a website or a priest do it for me.
I also find it funny that you condemn his interpretation of the bible. That same book that has been used to justify slavery, holding back women's rights, murdering doctors in women's clinics, and now preventing homosexuals from marrying. It seems like anyone can put their slant on those words. They're pretty ambiguous. Who exactly gets to decide the "right" way to interpret the bible?

Didn't click on the site and have no interest in what it says. I think the way I do about christians because of the ones I have personally experienced and because of the ones trying to force their religious beliefs into law. That I do have a problem with but I don't know why you think most of us hate you because most are just indifferent and would be willing to leave you alone if you left us alone.

Don't assume that because one atheist wrote a bad piece that all atheists have read it, bought into it, and now agree with it. I don't, thank you very much.
I don't dislike Christians as a group, but I *do* dislike certain Christians because of their poor treatment of other human beings, their demands that their morality become my law, and because many will not stop evangelizing even when asked nicely.

I'm not an Atheist, but the reason I feel (negatively) the way I do about Christians is because of the way they treat me and talk to me. I judge them based on their actions.

I have no idea who Jim Walker is, but he does not appear to me to be a Christian.
Are you saying that you believe all Chrisians are like him?

But there are just as many Christians who are educated. Ignorance and lack of understanding is just as rampant among atheists, so you shouldn't generalize.

Where is the symbolism in god telling the Jewish people to commit genocide? Your cop outs are worn a little thin, honestly.
