Well, a straightener, is a device kinda like a curler, but the opposite, the best ones are the ceramic, or a CHI, you can get them at you local stores, but I would try someplace like sally's, which is a beauty supply, and there they can tell you the best for your money.
So, basically, go to a beauty supply store and ask them, I would advise you not to go to a salon and buy a straightener because they tend to over price their items ALOT!!!
trust me I know, my mom has worked in a bunch of them, in my life time!
I hope I could help!!

You're not dumb. A hair straightener is the opposite of a curling iron. It looks a lot like one - but straightens your hair instead. Depending what you want to spend, you can get one at Wal-Mart for under $20 and then if you really like it you can go for the best on the market - a CHI that sells for about $130 0 you can get it at a salon or beauty supply store. Good luck with it.

Hi, I would never call you dumb, thats a good question for someone who has never heard of or seen a hair straightner, ok well the name says it all, it straightens your hair, even if you have the curlest most frizzy hair, it will striaghten it down straight as a board. You can get them at Wal mart Target, but for the really good ones like Chi, you get those in your local Salons, like if you have a Sallys around, but be careful, they are very expensive like if you get them at a Salon (100-200$) Hope I helped you!

You can purchase a straightner at any department store and at some beauty salons. They will be kept with the curling irons and blow dryers. They have to flat paddles that you squeeze together (with a section of hair between the paddles) to straighten your hair, much like a curling iron curls your hair. If you have mildly wavy hair then a department store straightner will do for you but if you have a strong curl and thick hair you want to go for a more expensive one bought through a beauty salon.

hair straighteners are long hair tools that have flat metal ceramic (sometimes) pieces in side of them that can heat up too 1000 watts, depending which one you buy. professional salons use them, which is why everytime you`re done getting a haircut, your hair comes out silky smooth, super straight&soo SOFT !! you can get one at target, walgreens, walmart, beauty supply stores.

It straightens your hair as the name says.......you can get one basically anywhere....from walmart to sallys beauty supply. I recommend a ceramic one....they are better for your hair than the others.
