I'm african american.. and well bascially I want lighter skin

I'm happy with my skin now it's just that I have dark spots in some areas, and people say "just get a full body tan" thing is, i don't want to get any darker, I want to lighten up my over all skin

Why is that the only place on my body that has light skin is under my arms (wrist to elbow) the bottom part is significantly lighter than the rest of my body, my goal is to lighten my skin like that,

how can I achive a lighter skin complexion?

If you just want to lighten dark spots (like sun spot kind of things, little areas where you're darker than others) you can get laser treatment on them from a dermatologist. I wouldn't recommend lightening your skin just to lighten it. I think African Americans are beautiful and handsome people.

I don't think you can - at least not successfully. I would be very wary of any one offerinf expensive skin laser or bleaching techniques, we cannot successfully get rid of tattoos with reliable results yet, they are always patchy and the shadow is always still visible. and skin lightening is along the same principle, removing smooth pigment from the skin...it will always be lumpy and unreliable. so I wouldn't got there, not worth the risk.
I now people will say 'Micheal Jackson did it' but Micheal Jackson is one of the richest men in the world and no plastic surgeon is going to take any chances getting it wrong with him. They might not be quite so careful about you!

i think what you're looking for is something to even out your complexion. and if you go darker your dark spots would go even darker, so a full body tan is not the answer. i can relate to what u r saying my face and arms are darker than the other parts of my body and i too have spots that i am not proud of. but for me i am more concern about the darker spots and not so much as the different shades of my body parts..o.k. so anyway i've been using only aveeno daily mosturizer and aveeno skin brightening daily scrub.
you can find this a walmart. its working for me, so give it a try. and also drink plenty of water and stay out of the sun. and most importantly love who u are..

add two cups of whole milk to your bath, it will lighten and moisturize skin it is said that cleopatra used to take baths in milk. rubbing lemon juice on the dark spots will lighten them, and if your skin isn't dry or damaged hydrogen peroxide will help. blend a papaya slice, apply the mixture to your dark spots and sleep with them on when you wake up wash them off and they will be lighter. and people she's not stupid if she wanted to hear ur not MJ or ur the way u r, or just stay inside and use some sunscreen she wouldn't have asked this question...

anyways hope this helps =]

First of all, I don't think you need lighter skin. If you have dark spots, then use a foundation that complements your skin tone while evening it out.

I am Caucasian American. Skin has aberrations. That is - it has light and dark areas. Why do you want to be lighter? Caucasians want to be darker. Who do you want to be??
