if she's doing coke, look for things like powder residue on mirrors, small straws, or rolled up bills. coke really isn't the drug of choice anymore, speed is. if she stops eating and sometimes doesn't sleep, or when she does sleep she sleeps all day, those are signs of meth use.

The choice these days is not meth or coke its Over the counter Cough syrup bottles. I say bottles because teens are using not one or two bottles but 4 -5 even more to get high. The alcohol in one bottle is not enough so they go for more.
Some signs are - Missing bottles from the medicine shelves. Hateful attitudes towards you (more so than the average teen mouth). Doesn't want to do parenty-family things. Wants to be home alone more often.
Others stinky breath, seems dead to the world (sleep wise), withdrawn.
You do have the right to take her in for a drug test. Her ob should be able to help!
Good Luck!

I think that if you believe your child is doing any sort of drug, then you have every right to snoop! If she's doing drugs than she IS in trouble. Yes, it's an expensive habit so how does she pay for it? DOes she have "older" friends who are calling her? You want your child to come to you about anything, yes, but you need to be a parent first and a friend later in life. Yes, she needs to be able to trust you, but the feeling should be mutual and obviouslyy, it's not. You can be discreet about looking in her room and only when you find something evident should you confront her. Until then, she's innocent until proven guilty.
How about talking to her? Maybe see if you can take her free time up by putting into something...volunteer work, charities, anything that will take her away from these new friends who seem to be influencing her life in such a negative way.
I hope this helps.as a parent myself,my heart goes out to you.

With this kind of situation or any similar situation your daughter needs a parent not a friend. I know from very personal experience. Do what you fell you need to do to get to the truth. If she is doing drugs she may resent you now for invading her privacy or making her drug test but in the future she will be greatful and alive.

Some nick names for it can be bing, snow, sniff, exct. ANd to who ever said it is not the drug of choice anymore sure aint in with things where i live. But where i live most kids are smoking it as crack ( its alot cheeper) I had a very close relitive that was an addict. Good luck!!!!!

the best way to tell is take her to her dr and have a blood test done and urine test , that way you'll know if she is doing them or not , and if you don't want her to think anything is up call the dr tell him what you suspect and act like you think something is wrong with her health as a reason for taking her , most people on drugs pull away from those who love them most

How old, your daughter can refuse to take a blood test etc. To be forced a court order would be needed and you need hard evidence, also if you are wrong you've just ruined your relationship with your daughter.

With any drud look for dialted pupils and glassy eyes, marijuana eyes will be blood shot to, will have the munchies and has a piny scent, cocaine they will tend to spit from the drip of cocaine tey may be shacky and want to play with things (using there hands constantly) I would sit down with your daughter and talk openly with her not down to her and there are always drug teat kits avalible at drug stores.

I understand your concern but you shouldn't snoop, unless you think shes in serious trouble. She'll never open up to you if you invade her privacy like that. I think it's great you're a concerned parent though, it seems to be a dying breed. If our daughter IS on cocaine, the things to look out for are:
Looking for money (cocaine is very expensive for a teenager!)
Large pupils
Chatty
Staying up and not sleeping
Lack of apetite
(If you can remember the words and want to post them I'll be happy to help if I can. Email me, if you want to be more descrete at lvlajor_b itch@yahoo.com) there's no space between the b and the itch but I dont want yahoo to filter it out so you cant see!
