I wouldn't get anything that anyone suggests! You have to choose it yourself. Think of what you would want or look at pictures and then change it to your own unique sense of style. You can look at pictures at tattoo.com if you want. As far as people saying that it will stretch down there, well only if you gain a massive amount of weight. It is below the belly line. As far as the skin cancer comment. That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
I have a tattoo there. I got one there about 6 years ago. It will heal fine, just wear loose fitting clothes for the first few days and take care of it properly. Good luck with whatever you choose!!

I am tired of hearing people say tattoo's on the tummy will look a mess in 20 yrs or after u have children.
My sister has a tattoo on her tummy just next to her belly button she was slim ect then she got pregnant and went really big, after giving birth her tattoo has gone back to its normal size.
(Not saying it will happen to everyone)
And who will be showing there tummy off anyways in 20 yrs time it will only look a mess if u get fat or wrinkle and u wont be running around in tank top when ur old and wrinkly will u?!

Anyways hun id say get something small like 1- 1 1/2 inch tattoo so incase u do get pregnant it wont get to big and after u give birth make sure u hit the gym to tone up then it shouldnt stretch.
Get something that means alot to u but if your not sure then go to an artist and tell him/her some ideas u like and ask him/her to draw u something so no one else will have that design, just make sure u dont get something with to much detail because it will have to be bigger.
I have a tattoo on my tummy, its about an inch big and i put on lots of weight once then lost it all and toned up and it looks no diffrent to when i got it done, Go for it.!

I love tattoos (I have 3 so far and working on a 4th) but I dont think that anyone could help you with something to get. It's got to mean something special to you. What are you interrested in? What do you like to do? Do you like tribal? Go onto tattoo.com and you can search for different styles and maybe even a tattoo parlor near you. Good Luck

The generic way would be to get a butterfly or a heart. Take some time look at a LOT of books and then decide. It took me 7 months to decide on my lower back tat.

Any tattoo you should get should be your own idea with a meaning special to you, since you'll have to live with it for the rest of your life. Also, I beg you to reconsider where you're getting it if you ever plan to have children stretch marks do a number on them. They grow mysteriously. Like, a rose turns into a rose BUSH. But seriously, ask yourself, what hobbies do you have, interests, permanent loves, and go from there. do you collect anything? Go from there and good luck!

Don't ask strangers. If you don't know what you want to get tattooed on you, wait.

Rushing and scrambling to find an idea will only wind up with regret. Take your time, tattoos should be something meaningful and personal to you.

My daughter just got an outline of a star there, the only problem is, the waist band of her jeans rubbed it and kept it irritated, and took alot longer to heal. Remember to follow all the instructions exactly as the artist tells you. Her neices name means morning star, that is why she got a star. Her first was a dolphin, since she loves dolphins. Do not get any name! unless you have a child, and get his/her name

A reputable tattoo artist won't tattoo a female stomach before she is done having children. Can you imagine what it will look like after a few pregnancies and some extra pounds?

Lots of really cute designs at:

P.S. I know lots of people who have stomach tattoos and had more than one child and their tattoos are still in tip top shape.

If you don't know what tattoo you want, don't get one. You shouldn't depend on a bunch of strangers to tell you what kind of tattoo to get. I would wait until you know without a shadow of a doubt what you want permanently inked on your body. It should be something that means a lot to you. Please don't get a tattoo just for the sake of getting one.
