It is a long distance relationship. my best friend and him are cousins so i get to see him ever month or so.
when we talk on the phone he doesn't really say much. and when i am with him he sits by me but not really close. about a foot away. I want to cuddle and stuff but he seems kinda uncomfortable. Should i breakup with him or try and loosen him up?

Try to make him more comfortable around you.. don't be afraid to act silly or be yourself... once he sees that he has no reason to be shy around you, maybe he'll open up more.

To me, a girl makes me feel more comfortable if she's touching me. I'm not talking anything naughty here. If she leans against me, holds my hand, hugs me, plays with my hair, gives me a shoulder rub. Any physical contact is a sign of openness and trust and makes most guys feel way more comfortable. Also, make sure you laugh together, go to a comedy show or rent a funny movie, laughter is a great way to get closer and more comfortable with each other.

One note about the touching part, most guys get worked up much easier than girls, so if you don't want to end up in the "extreme" situation, like you said, try not to overdo it with the physical contact, otherwise the poor guy won't be able to think about anything but sex. So, I'd say, do more of the hand holding/playing with his hair stuff and less of the hugging and leaning against him stuff.

Good luck.

Well if you are his first gf, then all this dating stuff is new to him. He's prob. afraid to mess things up with you, so thats maybe why he stays so shy. Same thing happened w/ my man, i was his first gf and so he was always so kind and polite and sometimes it got infuriating, but that means that he likes you alot and he really doesn't want to mess things up. Just wait some time and hang around him more. It's like meeting someone new, you are not going to go and tell everything about yourself, you have to get comfortable in the situation first. Hope this helps!

Don't push him. Just respect him. Everyone's a person, and he's no different. He's probably afraid of being hurt. If your be honest with him then he'll open up as he gest to know you better. It takes time. Like, lots of time, months.

He will start opening up more and more as you get closer and he's more comfortable.
