This is going to seem really sad but
the next dance for the 6 graders is in feb, i dont kno how to dance and i really wanna ask this kid to dance who i like. i do kno how to dance like normally, like i take dance class, a nd i kno how to dance at dances with my friends which i always do but not with a guy, can someone help me?

you'll knwo what to do when int happens trust me..it happened to me i was freaking out in grade six too but i never danced with the person=( now im in grade eight ad datings more complicated=( always sad and such i had my first dance this year EWWW, it was at halloween adn teh guy was dressed as a girl...its probably his first dance so he wotn notce if anythigns wrong and such, he was so dense, i was trygin to move away ferom the teachers. Basically jsut put your hands on his shoulders adn the rest will go into palce.

Aren't you a little young to be worried about this?
You might try watching some movies about dancing, and imitating the moves. Not very many people are good dancers, so it's unlikely that anyone will look at you and judge your performance at a school dance.
Lighten up a little and have fun.

Your only in 6th grade but i know ur probs nervous. I'm in dance 2 and it feels so awkward at dances. But i learned to copy other people what they are doing. Even just gently holding on 2 the guy and swaying with the music. he will think it is really sexy and if he doesn't get it then gently pull his hands and place them on ur hips then he'll get it. Who knows maybe by the end of the night you'll b grindin. or not...

I think it kinda depends on the songs they're gonna play at the dance.
You don't have to ask that person out right away, you can always ask him when the dance comes if he could spare a dance with you when a song pops up that you're comfortable with.

get your dad or brother or friends brother to teach you before the dance. If they aren't available, get together with your girlfriends (away from the dance classes) and practice with each other until you feel more comfortable. Even your mom or sister can assist you with this if you make it fun for everybody helping. Have a good time with it and enjoy your lessons.

Ok, if you mean slow dancing? It's really really simple (actually, the trick in sixth grade will be getting a boy to dance with you- that's the hard part). You put your hands on his shoulders and he puts his hands on your waist and you rock back and forth. Maybe move slowly in a circle. That's it! Really not that hard. Good luck!
