something homemade whether it be a card or baked good he'll love it and its inexpensive and you can personalize it to say youve been a great friend so he knows what its for.

Just keep it light hearted. Remember those silly cards we all used to hand out in grade school. Something equivalent to that. Valentines Day is about friendship as much as it is about lovers, but it seems folks have mostly forgotten about that.
