Yes, they should definitely be consistent through out the house. Consistency is very important in resale value (as was stated). Bold moves may be fun, but they can detract thousands from a houses value.
Also, a good rule of thumb for the color is to match it to the color of the molding in the room. I have seen faux wood look good, but it is usually the first thing you notice when you go into a room. Especially if they are dark. I just don't think that it is wise to have your blinds be the focal point of the room. They should be classy, but offer a smooth transition from one part of the wall to the other.

I recently went through the same dilemma. I just think it looks better to have a consistent and uniform look with the same blinds throughout.
Wood blinds can be expensive but there are companies out there that are pretty inexpensive. We found a company that is doing our entire two story house with 2 1/2" faux wood blinds for $720.

I don't think you should put the same ones throughout your whole house. Try to find some different kinds, such as the wood ones that you mentioned. The wooden blinds are gorgeous, but very expensive. Mix it up with different colored blinds to match the rooms, even if it is the same style. It'll add something new to your room.

Definitely yes...keeping the same style and brand/make will help to maintain if not increase your home's value should you ever resell it. Also,l it just looks neater overall. You can always dress the windows/blinds up with window treatments/curtains, etc. to change up the style and decor in different rooms. Faux wood blinds are a safe bet and very common in most homes.

I think you should vary them somehow. Like do the living room and diningroom with similar or same ones. Try something lighter in the kitchennand bathroom; and for the bedrooms, there might be some nice options with color or a relaxing design.
