my bf of 2.5 years said he was 'thinking' about maybe breaking up, what are some key points that need talked about before he and i come to a final decision, both of us are getting together later tonight to talk about it, and i need some pointers so i can organize my thoughts!

If he is thinking about it, he has already made up his mind, and is just letting you know so it is easier for him tonight. (Guys view) Keep you wits and dignity, and if that's the case, smile, look him in the eye, and say no problem, I was thinking I could find someone better myself. Then walk away, go home, and let it all out where no one can see.

Good Luck with that, sound like a tough situation:
Try to think why are you together and if you enjoy each other's company.
Try to imagine your lives without each other, would you feel the same without each other or feel that there's nothing missing?
Try to think of reasons you want to break up and if you can overcome them.
Try to think of 5 things you like about him and 5 things you hate about him and ask him to do the same.
Discussing financial issues migh help as well.
If he suggested breaking up make sure you ask him why,after all you wold't lik to stay wth someone who doesn't feel the same aout you.

Why do you want to be together? Gather those thoughts. What is it about your relationship that he finds isn't working? What can the two of you do to make those issues better? You kind of need to go on what his points are to make your counterpoints. If you know what they are, write them down and work from there. And of course why are you good together. Defend your relationship if you want to keep it.

The only advice I can give u is to tell u this. Don't settle for the one u can live with; wait for the one u cant live without!
If u cant live without him fight for ur relationship with all u have.
But if u feel otherwise maybe it is time to move on.

well ask him wut made him start to think about breaking up. was it something u did? is he just loosing interest? is there someoen else hes met? things like that.
