Products darlin'!! Gotta use the right products. I had to learn my lesson on that myself. There are thickening lotions out there by various makers for the flatness. Use the right shampoo and conditioner for the frizz. I like Silky Sexy Hair. It smells great. Get you a great flat iron. Make sure its ceramic. Use thermal setting spray when you're using your iron. Its a pain in the butt chore I know, but the other resort is a day after day ponytail! I do still do that often!

Find a good hair gel to keep it from being so frizzy. I have curly, frizzy hair. I wash it, and use conditioner, then put gel all through it (don't blow dry) and scrunch it, and go. I never brush it, as that just makes it frizzy again. I used to blow dry it, and use hot rollers or a curling iron to try to make it lok a certain way, but it never lasted long. I quit fighting it, and let it do what it wants to do, (just taming down the frizz with the gel) and now it is so much easier. I don't try to brush out the knot, I just wash it again, and let the conditioner get the knots out for me- much less damaging than trying to pull them out with a comb or brush.

Ok, first off, to get rid of the knotting at the bottom of your hair, you'll need to use condition everyday (if you aren't already). For the frizz, put a little gel in your hair. If you don't put to much, then it won't look like you have gel in your hair, but it will work to tame the frizz. For the no-volume problem, try something like Garnier Fructis volumizing spray. When you get out of the show, spray it in your hair and the blow dry your hair upside down. (bend over and blow dry your hair)

Go to a professional, if it has any curl to it at all, style it damp, put product in it and leave it alone, the more you play with it the frizzier it gets. . . . Take if from someone who has curly hair.
