Hmm. ...
Those are some good lines. Have you thought about becoming a televangelist? You could really make some money.

Statements such as the ones made above make me skeptical
even though I do believe that Jesus died and rose again.
There are people who talk this way only because they picked
it up from other church-goers, or to emulate their church
leaders/preachers,etc.
Others do it because they are dishonest.
The very phrase "relationship" is a human concept, not a
biblical or even a new testament idea. It is not a Christian
idea.
Common sense tells me that there's no way for me to
"relate" to a person with omnipotent, absolute power.
I would have to deal with God from a position of dependence,
not that of equality, because I'm not equal to him.
Also, God is a King, not a subject.
There are people I speak to that I have no "relationship" with.
If I pray, there's no "relationship," just dependence.
Wishful thinking can cause a person to become a lunatic,
but for those above, it might just cause disappointment.

I liked the super cryptic metric God code cracker best. How about you. And you thought he was feigning a relationship with God. How could you. You better get closer to that person if you want to be right with God BB

If you believe the the bible is the inspired Word of God, then God speaks to us through His Word [i.e. the lessons and stories of the bible and how we can apply them to our life and our life situations].
I believe God also speaks to us through other people - not literally, but uses other people/places them in our path, to help us make decisions or give us council.
I also believe that God speaks to us through His creation. Again, not literally, but through the beauty and majesty of His work that we can acknowledge that He is truly the Creator of all.
So I wouldn't consider what you are saying as feigning a relationship. I would also say that those who aren't recognizing how he is trying to communicate aren't crazy as you have so described us, but more simply unwilling to listen.

God speaks to us in His Creation every day and though His eternal word in the Bible.
BTW why ask questions just to mock and to have a bunch of syncopated acolytes chant reassurances to yourself?

I totally think that people who claim they "talked" to god are mentally ill. God does not talk to people because god doesn't exist. But I don't think people are mentally ill if they just have a good relationship with him. Not that I believe in god, it's just that I don't think so.
