It is part of truth, for part is all it can be... the truth is unable to be expressed, you simply have to see! You see Sunman says much the same as me!

I can only speak as a Christian, but we believe Holy Scripture is inspired by God himself. When Moses saw the burning bush in the exodus, God spoke to him and called himself 'I am that I am' and God appears directly to several of his prophets, notably Moses (when he is given the Ten Commandments on top of the Mount and Elijah. The Bible says of each of these men, that their faces were 'shining' when they had finished speaking with him. God promised Moses and Elijah they would see the Messiah. Later, again, on the top of a high mountain, where Christ had gone with some of his friends Jesus asks Peter who he thinks Christ is. Peter said ' You are the Christ, the son of the Living God'. At this point Jesus begins to glow brightly , like a fibreoptic angel and they are all terrified as they cen see this person they thought was a man, as a divinity. Then in answer to God's promise, Elijah and Moses appear and Jesus tells them it is time for himself to go back to heaven, that is to undertake his mission. We all have that spark of godlike divinity within us. We all know what the truth is, even if we struggle against it. John, Jesus' youngest disciple calls Jesus the Word. God put himself into human form to tell men about the need for Love, and Tolerance, Community and not living in ways that hurt and wound others. These teachings are beautifully summed up by Paul in the first Letter to the Corinthians Ch 13. He says what Love is not-is not proud, is not happy with wrong doing, does not bear grudges, Love is kind, accepting, tolerant and endures to the end.Love is the alpha and the Omega. I'm pretty happy with these truths, if only people lived up to them. Some of us try and I think the desire for the happiness and contentment of these truths is inside everyone. While Faith is important, and always hope it is Love that marks the Christian.Even harkening back to the Ten Commandments, the Christian is not meant to waste time on things that don't benefit everyone. The Christian out of love cares for his family, is not supposed to lie, cheat, steal, be jealous or take human life in any shape. We are meant to marry one person, have children and grow together. This is a hard way to live, to keep these rules, but many manage this, and when you see people like my Uncle and Aunt happily married for 50 years, you can see they have had a happy life.Although Scripture is difficult to follow to the letter as the Church is full of sinners, -and at least we do try to examine our consciences -there is no greater happiness or calmness of soul of inner truth than the mind of God. Christ said 'By their fruits you shall know the false prophets'
so people's behaviour and how they are echoes the truth of their faith. And there is, ultimately, no truth except that we really must try to love and accept each other, four our lives have no celebrity value. The value is only in how much we love others and how much others love us..

Outside. The meaning is in the symbol, but the symbol is not in the meaning, or, the truth is in the scripture, but the scripture is not in the truth.
I'm not just playing with words, this is one of the most important insights to be grasped.

Thanks to the one I AM, here is another one:
the blood is in the cup, but the cup is not in the blood.

Certainly inside. People can only understand the truths of God with the help of the Holy Spirit and you can only get that gift if you are inside the church.

There is only one Truth, but I've heard too many different interpretations of it. So it is with the Scripture.

Scripture is all Truth, but Truth is not all contained in the Scripture.

Religious scripture is man-made. I believe it to be untrue because it is claimed to be the word of God.
