Is there any way I (or a gunsmith) could fix the rear sight on my 59/66 SKS? It is not adjustable, and the front site won't adjust far enough to compensate. (Why the godless commies made the fron instead of rear site adjustable I don't know) It shoots at least 6 inches to the right at 30 feet.

I think you can bend it but you would have better luck getting a gunsmith to look at it.The one you have is at least better than the Chinese version.

Yugo SKSs, and all SKSs, have adjustable rear sights. In fact, ALL military rifles have adjustable rear sights. The Yugo is a top of the line model. It is the most improved and is made with modern steels on modern machinery in modern factories. They are very high quality compared to all other countries that made them.
The rear sights are graduated in 100 meter increments and can be shot accurately out to 250, to 300 meters with practice. That's about the limit for 7.62X39mm shells. The rear sight has a number beside a line. To adjust for longer ranges, raise the sight up, squeeze the "ears" on the sides and slide the thing back and forth to the right number. Release the "ears" and let the "ladder' rest back down. Each increment is like the rungs on a ladder, thus the name ladder type sights.
The Yugo is way better than the Chinese version. The Chinese guns are higher priced sometimes because the supply of them was cut off by traitor clinton and his gang of communists. They are getting harder to find, which makes them "rare" and collectors will pay a higher price just to have one. Compared to others, Chinese are low quality. But they still work every time, a big requirement for military rifles.

im not entirely sure but i know there is a tool made to adjust the sights. if you cant adjust it far enough, then it is most likely bent.

as for the guy who said the yugo is better than the chinese sks, where did you get that idea? I personally have a chinese norinco, and it is great. I have looked at both the yugo and the chinese, and it seems to me like the chinese is a bit better quality. The biggest difference is the chinese has a chromed barrel, which is much better that the mild steel the yugo's have. The yugos are built a little more to make up for the lack of strength of the metals(also heavier). The chinese guns also usually cost more than the yugo's. I would like to know why you think the yugo is better?
