Yes, they are becomming more common becasue it is cheaper than a Saturday. Also, Fridays are cheaper. If your daughter wants to get married on a Sunday she should consider how many guests will be traveling from out of town. Also, if she will have an evening reception people might not stay becasue they have work monday morning. If price is her concer I would go with Friday instead this way everone can enjoy the whole night and not have to worry about work the next day.

Sunday weddings are gaining popularity. Might wan tto check with Emily Post on the etiquette of having a Sunday wedding. I think it needs to happen in between church services.
Best wishes

Sunday weddings are becoming pretty common. If the ceremony will be held in a church, she would just need to check need to make sure that it did not interfere with services and that the officiant was willing to perform the ceremony on a Sunday.

What a lovely idea, I had not even thought of that (struggling to find a free date in any local registry offices) I am sure that would be possible, check out this website
www.confetti.co.uk
It has a section that covers the legal requirements for England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland

Wish I could help you as far as Wales' laws go.
Sunday is gaining popularity here, even among those that observe Sunday, religiously.

It depends on the religion. Some religions disallow Sunday weddings and other disallow Saturday ones.
