It says in the bible Jesus will come like a thief in the night, it also says Jesus will come with a sword, so everything Satan is said to do Jesus seems to do also!

Well you hit upon a tricky point. If God is truly omniscient, he would know Satan would be the root of all evil when he created him. God created him anyway. Furthermore, he created humans knowing they would succumb to Satan's influence. so who's responsible for the evil of the world?

Satan's job is to reverse all to teachings of God. He does not steal, kill and he does not destroy. Only man does the things you said under Satan's influence or naggings.
Without Satan in our mind, no one would know if man is doing what is right in the eyes of God. Meaning how can you know that what you are doing is good if you do not even know what is bad?
He is not hired as you said but he is there always as a test for us if we really are doing what God has required us to do.

Satan is allowed to tempt people because God has allowed him to, not because God "hired" him. God allows this only because it tests the faith of the righteous, and for the unrighteous it serves as proof of their disobedient and sinful nature. God allows Satan free reign on this earth because man forfeited the earth to Satan when he disbelieved God and instead believed Satan, declaring Satan as his father and lord. There is a day coming, however, when Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire, because Jesus has bought back the earth by dying for it and us, and when Christ rules, Satan will be in hell, unable to tempt anyone ever again.

Here is a boy that has the ability of selective reading. Go back and read the Bible again and see what happened.
Satan was an angel that chose to do rebel against God. God didn't "hire" him like this. It doesn't say anything about God in the way you suggest!

Stealing and killing are not Satan's job.
He quit his job as the songleader of Heaven to take up stealing and killing.
He is a rebel against God.
God did NOT "hire" him.

no, Satan thinks he can do a better job so he started a rival bid'ness which is doomed to fail because heaven is a monopoly and its the only successful one . and GOD created all of us with free will including his brightest angel and now we have the free will to decide who is in charge.

U r right there. I don't understand that if God is supposed 2 b good and fatherlike, why is he (supposedly) posing threats on the thing he created. I thought that God is supposed 2 b nice, not evil. The devil is the one that's supposed 2 b evil.

I'm so glad I'm an atheist...

No. Satan is called the deciever. He is the enemy of God and people. His job is not what you mentioned. He doesn't have a job in the Kindom of God. And, there is no reason to compare.
