U.S. involvement started right when Britain and France declared war on Nazi Germany. FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt) had an inclination to the British and French side even though the mass of the U.S. population cried out for neutrality, this even allowed some companies in the U.S. to profit off of the war (Ford of the Ford motor's company actually sold many concentration camp equipment to German like gas equipments and etc. though Ford actually was a strong anti-Semitic).
But the very point of U.S.'s actual inclination to get into the war was from FDR, but he couldn't with the mass majority of U.S. citizens for neutrality. But he passed many legislation that was pro-Britain, he also exchanged secret letters with the British Prime minister at that time, Winston Churchill. Also there were actual meetings and communications with Churchill that were public and publicly scooting towards Britain in this war, such as the Atlantic Charter and etc.
Though when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, this led to FDR's jump to declare war on all of the Axis powers, which included Germany. Creating the motion for complete U.S. involvement.

Because Japan bombed Pearl Harbor when America didn't do them nothing. The innocent lives was lost and patriotism spurred through America, and They probably would have captured America, if America didn't joined the war they probably would have finished bomb all of America's defense force; then take over America.

The most prevelant idea for why we, the USA got involved in WW II was because of the santions that Cuba had on the republic of China. Cuba was overcharging the international world too much for cuban made condoms, China finally had enough with the whole procration problem that they were having so they had a bunch of slant eyed bastards and they then grew up to develope nuclear weapons to whip the USA off of the face of the globe. Now the whole thing is coming to fruition and we as a country are screwed!! Thanks Cuba!! See you in Hell!!
