The devastating conditions that were placed on Germany after WW 1 can be considered the first major event leading to WW 11. Onde Hitler came into power in 1933, Germany started to annex many territories and broke treaties and this led up to their invasion of Poland on Sept 1, 1939 which is the official date of the beginning of WW 11.

Well, I'm sure you can get better answers by researching it on the web. That's what I would do...but in my opinion...
WWII stemmed from a couple of things. (1) The retribution of the world against Germany from WWI led to their economic and societal depression. They were just longing for a dynamic leader to come bring them to life again, (2) the pacifying ways of the European government (think Chamberlain)...Germany had started to conquer other countries, yet no one stepped in until it was too late. They let them have Czech. and Poland before acting thinking they would "stop" after that. Yeah right.

Rise of the Nazi party and Hitler in Germany. German resentment of the conditions imposed by the treaty ending World War I. The failure of Chamberlain to stand up to Hitler's expansionist move into Czechoslovakia in 1938. The invasion of Poland in Sep. 1939 by German forces.
Hitler managed to get all civil rights suspended in Germany after the Reischstag burned. This effectively allowed no political dissent or any questioning of Nazi procedures or power by the people.
