About 35 to 45 minutes to boil for with chicken/bones. Boneless takes about 20 minutes. To check...stick a fork or knife to see if the juice runs clear...if shows little red or pink..boil another 10 minutes...it should be fine.

It depends how many pounds you are boiling, but like 4 to 5 pieces of boneless chicken breast should only take about 30-40 minutes.

You will end up with boring, bland meat this way. If you add other things, you will have something tastier.
Boiling the chicken alone in rapidly boiling water for 10 minutes would cook it through. If you added chopped carrots, celery and onion and a little chopped garlic, you'd have a very nice chicken soup. Boil it on a gentle simmer for 45 minutes.

You'd do better cutting it into pieces first. but it should SIMMER (not boil) for about 45-60 minutes.
