The Bible is NOT anti-violence. I have no idea who the person you are asking about is but do know scripture. Soldiers asked a prophet what they should do and were told...
Luke 3:14 Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” John replied, “Don’t force people to give you money. Don’t bring false charges against people. Be happy with your pay.”

They were NOT told that what they were doing violated God's will.

The bible justifies anything it pleases to,it just depends on how many people fall for it.
