If your earned income is $17k and you're filing a joint return with your spouse and have 2 or more qualifying dependents (under age 19 or 24 if a full-time student) your EITC would be $4,491.00.

You must complete your tax return to know the exact amount but that is in the ballpark.

claiming five? who are the other two dependents? you can claim yourself or you wife as a dependent, you can only take your own standard deductions. if they are others, they must be related to you by blood marriage or adoption to qualify for a deduction
