we had a dance on sat & i ask this guy to dance.. its not like we are strangers or anything he is my friend.. in the grade above me.. and we dont like hang out on the weekends or anything but we talk at school.anyways when i got home that night my mom asked me if i danced with anyone and i said that i asked this guy to dance and she was like well do other girls ask guys cause i dont want you to be the only one and i was like yeah some other girls ask guys but even if i was the only one why would that be bad? and she was like well i don't want you to be the only girl who is sorta forward and what if he didn't wanna dance with you.. and i was like well he seemed happy to dance with me and anyways think about it this way:if a guy came up and asked you to dance even if you didn't want to what is the big deal either you politely say no or you dance one dance with them and then its over.what is the big deal? i mean did i do something wrong?is it not ok to ask a guy to dance? arent i right

You didn't do anything wrong. It's just fine to ask guys to dance! It takes pressure off of them...I say way to go.
