Prom is coming up soon and I want the clearest skin possible. Right now I'm having a dreadful breakout, but my acne is usually mild. It's never really horrendous, but I'm worried. What are some sureproof ways to get clear skin in time for prom?

I have some time to experiment, and I just want products I can get at the store. I'm not going to a dermatologist or buying proactive.

my suggestion is to use more gentler products. I used to use harsh products for acne that are all medicated but too much of these medicines are way too harsh for ur skin. One or two is fine though. I’ve used stuff from proactive, acnefree, medicated cleansers, expensive department store stuff like sheseido, differin, duac, etc. none of them worked very well for me. Most of them made my skin worse.

i have oily, acne-prone skin too. and i used to have a scatter of pimples all along my forehead too. but now it stopped and currently i only have two tiny whiteheads on my chin (barely noticeable).

But I have some acne scars on my cheeks and, thank goodness, they are actually fading away in a reasonable pace.

Here are the products I am currently using that has been treating my skin like a miracle:

cleanse with morning burst cleanser by clean and clear in the morning and oxygenating fizzing cleanser at night (also by clean and clear). use cooling daily pore toner by clean and clear and do not use an astringent which will strip away natural oils and cause ur face to produce more oil than needed.

use an oil-free moisturizer with spf 15 and above for day (purpose dual moisturizer or clean and clear morning glow moisturizer). use dual action moisturizer by clean and clear for night.

use persa-gel 10 for breakouts and pimples.

and use a clay mask containing sulfur once or twice a week (more on days of breakouts). try queen helene mint julep masque. or proactive refining mask. U can also spottreat and dab on a spot of it directly on ur pimples without rubbing it in. just dab lightly! and leave it on overnight. it should become smaller, less red, less noticeable, or disapear completely the next morning.

exfoliate with the Neutrogena invigorating foaming scrub only once a week.

If u use makeup, use only oil-free and water-based foundation (but I suggest u not use foundation at all because oil-free or not, it will clog ur pores), and oil-free powder and concealer. Try getting one that contains acne-fighting ingredients (look at some Neutrogena products).

DO NOT use toothpaste or deodorant or any of those weird "remedies"!! they are only myths and will only ruin ur skin condition even more! stick with things that are MEANT for ur face.

Also, after I washed my pillow and blankets (that I hadn’t washed for a few weeks), my skin stopped breaking out so much everytime I wake up in the morning. I realized that wherever I put my face on the pillow, I wake up the next morning with a huge red pimple right on that spot where my face was on the pillow! So wash it every week or as much as possible. And also wash ur towel. Don’t use a washcloth because it collects bacterias everytime u wipe ur face with it and it gets all over ur skin… unless u wash it after every single time u use it. Instead use tissue paper, toilet paper, or paper towels to blot ur face dry.

i hope that helps! :]

Ok. After you shower in the morning, (this is going to sound weird) blow dry your face. Honestly!! It closes your pores and is a kind of natural microdermobrasion.
When you wash your face, rinse with hot water first, then wash with mild soap and a scrubbie, then rinse with hot water again and then with cold water.
Use acne pads, like Oxy, after you dry your face. Don't use these if your skin is dry!! If your skin is dry then put toner on your face instead.
Also, wash your hands before you touch your face, and try not to touch your face often.
Have you been breaking out on your chin? Look no further than your phone. Phone speakers gather bacteria. Wipe off the part you talk into with an antibacterial wipe.
Good luck hun!! :)

Ive tried so many things i even went to a dermatologist and ive tried proactive nothing works.... but ive been using these things and their helping really well, because i too have had a sudden major breakout.....so what i do is follow these steps---->
1) in the morning i wash my face with St.Ives Apricot scrub just so i can get rid of the dirt or oils of my face and have it feel clean...during the day my face gets oily and i wear makeup by lancome it does not worsen acne or anything, but during the day like at school or something i carry around these like little biore blot pads in my purse and they are really small and so like when i go bathroom or something i use one and just dab it on my face and it soaks up all the oil....
2)When I'm just at home doing nothing, going no where and just being bored watching tv or somethin i use a Q-Tip and dab on PURE Tea Tree Oil on my zits/pimples or whatever and i just let the tea tree oil dry up because its a liquid then i put a little more on, it realls smells and its really strong just to worn you, then it drys again and i just go wash my face again with the apricot scrub to take it off....
3)Later before bed if i need to i might wash my face again if i went somewheres after i used the tea tree oil and like put more makeup on or something so ill wash it again and i put Netrogena oil free moisturizer so that i dont dry up, because the tea tree oil will get your skin a little dry.....
TIPS: never pick at your face i know from experience it makes it worse and leaves scars, drink water daily

So those are my daily steps and its working really good for me!!! Hope it can help you :-D cause breakouts SUCK!!!

A healthy diet is always important to good skin. Always drink plenty of water to hydrate your skin, and for pimples drinking jasmine tea helps very much. Remember to wash your face daily. Then apply toner to your face and neck. Then apply lotion to your face and neck. Remember to put it on your neck because many people make the mistake by not doing that. Many people’s necks are very dirty and if they wash their face, but not neck it does not help a bit. If you have pimples apply a drop of tea tree oil on it before you go to bed. If you don’t have the oil just apply toothpaste. However, don’t use the whitening or any other kind of toothpaste because you don’t want to bleach your skin. If you have problems on your nose you should get biore strips. If you would like ant specific kind of face wash, I use AUBREY Organics: Natural Herbal. It is all vegan, and it has 100% natural ingredients. For more information go to www.aubrey-organics.com or www.herbalremediesinfo.com/Acne.html or www.biore.com.

Get Neutrogena products for what you have, they're one of the best products and also make sure your face is clean.

P.S. Drink water, it's good for you and for the skin.

i went to a dermatologist for my skin once, and i was put on a drug that nearly killed me. so be careful. i found that aloe vera is great for acne. also using a specialised acne face wash, exfoliating, and moisturising works the best. if all else fails.. make up is good :D

proactive is the best for your pores..although its a little costly. just make sure to wash your face every morning and night. try not to worry about this too much because thn you might stress yourself out and stress will cause even more zits to come. hope i helped =]
