I'm a sophamore in highschool, and there's a freshman girl I saw who I want to get to know. How should I approach her for the first time?

First off, you're making us "sophamore's" look bad by not knowing how to spell sophomore :P
Just go up to her. Talk to her. There really isn't any other way to do it.

if she's in a class, simple ask her a question about an assignment. If not, just gulp up that shy attitude and walk up to her and ask her to join you to one of the athletic events at the school (i.e. baseball, football, basketball game). That will definitely give you guys the opportunity to talk and get to know each other a little better.
If you need your friends for moral support invite her to bowling or pool. Make it a group night out, it's comfortable for the both of you and she can see you in your natural environment (and vice versa).

well, since you are a sophomore and she is a freshman, she should definitely be open to talking to you. just say hi some time in the hallway, or, if she is in one of your classes, talk to her about the upcoming test or the homework assignment. don't be shy and don't come on to strong. get her to be comfortable with you first. be friends. then if the time is right and she really is someone you want to know you two can become closer.

Just saying hi in the hallway is a good step, try then small talk like "hi, how was your class?" , things like that and If you both eat at the same lunch floor or time, then you might ask her if you can sit with her at lunch. and since valentine is comming around, try getting her a valentine's card.

Just be yourself!
Walk upto her before school starts, at lunch, or even after school and introduce yourself to her, be friendly and make eye contact with the girl. Take it from there, based on how she acts with you, first impressions are usually pretty apparent.

Just walk up to her and introduce yourself. Trust me, girls like guys who are outgoing. Start talking to her, maybe even carry her books around school if you ever see her struggling to keep them off the floor. She would really appreciate it if you did her a favor or 2.
