I got married when I was 18 to my husband who was going into the navy. We only had 3 months to plan and I was still in High School. The wedding turned out ok. a few things got screwed up: like the preacher not telling my mom to sit down after giving me away, the video recorder battery died before the wedding, pictures didnt come out clear and my cake looked like my 70 year old grandmother did it. I have a beautiful white dress and after seeing everyone elses wedding, i would love to do my over. I know it won't be a "wedding" but would it make me look selfish if i tried to do it over? if not, can I wear my dress again?

Of course you can, this is becoming very popular, I think it is a great idea and gives many people the chance to demonstrate their love again, I think you should set the date and invite everyone that answers your question lol.....
seriously though, this is such a lovely idea.

You don't say how long ago it was when you were married but I would assume it was long enough ago to justify renewal of vows.
If you haven't already, have a chat to your hubby about it.. maybe bring it up over valentine's day? and take it from there...
I think it sounds like a wonderful idea...afterall you've been through a lot since the first wedding.. this is a chance to show that, nomatter what has happened in the past, you still love each other.
...and you can wear whatever you want!

Of course you can re-new your wedding vows. You didn't mention how long you have been married for?
I'm getting married next year (aged 24), and plan to re-new mine in the Maldives after 5 years as I really wanted to get married there, but they don't do weddings on the island so I have just had to settle for Jamaica. We don't have children yet, and by 5 years we should have 1, so it would be nice to have our child involved in it as well.
There is always things you wished you could of done better, and a re-newal of your vows and a reception afterwards would be a great way to do it.

There is nothing wrong with renewing your vows, but it is NOT another wedding. A vow renewal is having a simple blessing or ceremony, then you can have family and close friends to your home for a dinner. Your wedding was what it was; there are no "do-overs". Hope your marriage is going well, though.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
We are doing ours this year, we will have been married 15 yrs. We are making it a special ceremony with just our closest friends so it will be very personal to us. As to wearing your dress again, I can't fit mine now!!! I will be buying lovely floaty summer evening dress to wear.
Don't let any cynical people change your mind or say things like they've been married for so many years and dont feel they need to renew vows...its how YOU feel about one another that counts.
Go for it. I'm having great time planning mine!

your wedding was about marrying your husband not how good everything looked maybe you could renew your vows to mark a special aniversery of say 10 or 25 years but not so your wedding looks better than your friends.

Yes you can renew your vows when ever you and your hubby like. Some times people do it for different reasons and its up to you two what you think but i would go for it as i would like to do mine in two years time so that my younger son wuold be in the photos and another reason I love my hubby so much.
Go a head and do it.
GOOD LUCK hope it goes the way you and your hubby want it to go.
