I don't do hotlinks so will answer only part of your question. Tithing is a wonderful gift - to the giver. It helps us express trust in God's provision. It allows us to celebrate God's goodness. It helps us manage our consumption patterns. It witnesses to our faith. And it helps others.
You might be surprised at how churches use the money. Ask to see their budget. Any church preaching tithing and using less than a tithe to help others is not being up front. I called my congregation on this and they've changed. Our national church uses an astounding 98% of every dollar given for world hunger for world hunger. It is the highest figure I've found, and believe me, I've looked.

WOW..that link was a bit much....My husband and I have begun to tithe just recently, we give 10% of our income to our Church. But if we should come across another organization that we felt could really use help we would give it to them. We believe that the 10% belongs to God, so it really does not matter where we give it, if the money is not used for good, well then that person or persons will have to answer to God, it is not our problem.

You are not supposed to pay a tithe at at all. That is an Old Testament rule which has been cancelled by the cross. It is actually a sin to tithe because you are ignoring Christ and are focusing on "the old laws". If you want to give, go ahead and give, but don't tithe.

you won't have the ability to be excommunicated for no longer paying tithing. that's in each and every way voluntary. i'm quite particular you heavily isn't released out of your calling the two - except you are the Bishop, or something substantial. And no person will ask you to repent. At tithing settlement the Bishop ought to debate it with you, in spite of the undeniable fact that it's not as though he's going to call for to establish your earnings slip and ask for a cheque. you're no longer "paying for your way via faith." you're only giving lower back to God 10% of what he supplies you. that's a thank offering, and a small one at that. in the pal (I even have young ones) this month are 2 thoughts of families using the final of their money to pay tithing, and getting spectacular advantages - the nutrition and shoes they mandatory yet did no longer have money for. Has something like that no longer happened to you? i are conscious of it has to me. on the grounds which you have continually been a member of the church, possibly once you end paying tithing you will discover how a lot you genuinely might desire to! I pay my tithing by using direct debit, so I never even see the money and that i do no longer could muster up the religion to write down a cheque each and each month. i discover that by using some distance the least difficult thank you to do it, in spite of the undeniable fact that it does count number on your earnings being the comparable each and each month. I additionally GiftAid it, so in quite actuality I pay below 10% from my internet earnings, and the the remainder of it comes lower back by using using the taxman, so i'm nonetheless an entire tithepayer, and that i understand that area of my earnings tax is genuinely going to the church. outstanding. probable only works in the united kingdom, of direction. yet the two you ought to pay the equivalent of tithing right into a severe interest discounts account and then on the top of the year pay it, and you're able to nonetheless have each and every of the interest it had generated. you will could muster up much greater faith to area with the lump sum, of direction...

Well, I don't know about this person or their website. But, tithing is an Old Testament law for Jews only. There is no New Testament command to tithe.

I am a faithful tither and I can tell you that GOD will indeed open the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing your "barns cannot hold." Tithing was good enough for Abraham and it works for me. I guess this is one of those things included in the statement " Seek out your own salvation with much fear and trembling."

I wouldn't even visit a site called bible-truths.com - the domain itself is an oxymoron.
