If one of your children is in private school and you don't send your other children to private school is it fare to them?

I’m wondering who are in this situation.

I’m going to assume that the parents have what they feel is a legitimate reason for doing this (because why else would a parent do it?).

I, myself, had one child in private school and one in public school for several years. The one in public school was in elementary school and was doing fine, but the older one was in middle school (different schools) and his school was filled with gangs and drugs…so he got sent to private school. The decision had nothing to do with me ‘favoring’ one child over the other. And, honestly, if anyone had questioned me about it, I would have told them real fast that it was MY decision and I wasn’t required to justify it (not that I couldn’t have, but I wouldn’t have).

If your sending the one to a private school just for the heck of it then no its not fair. I would imagine that your children feel left out and like they are not good enough and did not meet your expectations. Either send them all or explain to the other children who aren't going to a private and explain to them a good reason why they have to go to a public school while their brother or sister is going to a private school.
I hope that your kids will not get angry with you good luck.

I agree with the first answer... The only reasons that I would see that would warrant one child to go to a private school over another would be that they have some time of special need. If there is no special need I really think that it isn't fair to your other children. And I think that when they get older they would resent that.

yes, if that one child has the opportunity to go to a private school then u should send him/her. it wouldn't be fair to him/her if u didn't send him/her. but u should talk about this as a family too because the other child might not be as good about this. anyways sibling rivalry is going to happen wether u like it or not.

No unless the enrolled child is much more advanced than the other children. Or if it is a special school for the "special" children.

No it isn't, your children should be treated equally. Because when they get older, the one that goes to the public school well think you don't love him or her or that you didn't think he or she was good enough. think about the future, and good luck
