There has been so much negativity about them lately. What first really comes to your mind when thinking about their religion, ethics, etc. Thank you.

Even though I have studied Western Religions quite a lot I am unable to see the relationship with the teachings of Islam and values that I hold sacred.

People should be allowed to live in peace, not die because they don't get down on their knees 6 times a day and pray to a 6th century warlord. Women are not chattel and should not be treated as such. I don't believe that it is OK to murder, rape and torture in the name of a 6th century warlord and I especially don't believe that in a theocracy as a legitimate form of government. The followers of Islam have been killing each other and anybody that disagrees with them for 1600 years non-stop. We see first hand the acts of terrorist by Muslims and millions of Muslims supporting these acts. Even though Christianity went through about 600 years of despicable acts we finally got it right.

Muslims.....no thank you

When I think of Islam, I think of thousands of Muslims burning the American flag and shouting "death to America". That's the first thing that comes to mind. Then I remember they say they are a peaceful religion and I wonder why they do not become outspoken in condemning the violence Islam is propagating.
Then I remember that they say Christianity has a bloody, warlike history also. And I think, what has that to do with now? They are being bloody and warlike, not Christianity.
I also think about separation of church and state in America and realize what a good idea it is.

I studied Islam for a relatively LONG time and I find it an interesting religion, albeit not one for me since I don't believe in a creator god, and I disagree with them on a LOT of logical points. I also felt, personally, that there were far too many disagreements, even in close communities, on various issues within Islam that just made it rather confusing. If it works for others, I say more power to 'em. As a Buddhist I have great respect for Muslims who approach the world with integrity, intelligence, altruism and wisdom.

About the same as any other religious group including the religious group I'm claiming at the moment--there are good and bad in every bunch.

I used to work along side a lot of middle eastern and eastern students. The people I met were really nice. We had some cultural differences, but, they weren't really noticeable and it was kind of fun discussing different things--everything from movies to politics--with people who really saw the world differently from the folks I was accustomed to spending time with. They didn't beat me over the head with their religion and I didn't bug them with mine.

But, every group has their set of arsehat fundamentalists and holier-than-thous...

It is just too bad that the arsehats of the world make so much noise and draw so much attention.

They are the BOTTOM OF THE HEAP!

They are in DENIAL about today's TERRORISTS and their own Quaran!

After one lied to me here on Q & A, pretending to be a Christian, - I do not trust ANY OF THEM AT ALL!

I believe the Quaran has ERRORS!
Example :
"Not Jesus, but a look alike, was substituted and crucified at the Cross." -4:157
THIS IS BLASPHEMY - AND A LIE! No proof can be offered at all.

I am aware of "The peace of Saladin"-Wait until strong - then STRIKE!

The Jahad is World Wide and ongoing Right NOW!

Koran....supposedly came out of the moon delivered on a Pegasus type horse horse by Muhamed

Muslims, people who can believe this or are born in simple living and generally different culture, or claim to repent from Western Affluenza type living and influences to embrace simplicity and unequal living with women

Islam- a newer approach to simplicity and a militant stance upon conservative and extreme faith/exclusion and far right advocations and interpretations of Koran

Christians- have same "Liberals" and thier conservative fundy abortion clinic doctor murders and terrrorist bombers

but generally no matter what our faith/no faith, we still are responsible for our actions

Genocide and Islam: Chapter 4 - Islam and the Muslim Invasions “Let it be said right away: the massacres perpetuated by Muslims in India are unparalleled in history, bigger than the Holocaust of the Jews by the Nazis; or the massacre of the Armenians by the Turks” http://www.nalanda.nitc.ac.in/resources/english/etext-project/history/gautier/chapter4.html

I believe that muslims have learned the proper and the correct way to worship and put GOd first. Islam is a great religion.
those christians just like the one who quoted those ayats is just trying to vandalize islam and the quran. the bible has a lot of those same scrpitures. People need to undstand that there is One God and he just makes it difficult to get to Him by making things confusing. You have to trust in faith no matter what. its is the same as catholic clergy sodomizing little boys.

Islam is a strange warped religion, almost medieval ethics.

Muslims seek to impose sharia & divide ppl into "us & them"

They are a threat to democracy
