I've used DHC skin care for about a year and a half now. I've kept my face clean with their products, but my acne just isn't going away.

I want to try something else that directly targets my acne...
so my question is... Clearasil or Proactiv?
In terms of price, effectiveness, everything of that sort.

i had pretty bad acne and i had tried everything... creams, face washes, pills, birth control... one day 6 months ago i just got fed up and decided to order some proactiv. i had heard some success stories from people i knew, plus those infomercials on tv really hook you. it has been the best thing i have done for my skin.

i find that a combination of proactiv and zapzyt (benzoyl peroxide cream 10%) works best for me. the proactiv took forever to start working (2 months). it didn't clear everything. so i added in using the zapzyt after the toner and before the lotion, and my skin has improved SO much. i still get pimples every now and then, but not nearly as much or as severe as i used to. i actually don't really mind the pimples i do get now, realizing that they are nothing compared to what i had.

looking back at pictures from 6 months ago, i can't believe how bad my skin was and how much it has improved! proactiv works the best for me. even though it's so expensive, i don't mind the price, because it's the only thing that HELPS. it won't work for everyone, and you may find that your skin gets worse before it gets better, but it's definitely worth a shot.

PROACTIV is totally worth it (from my experience.)

good luck!

I work in a spa and we use PCA (Physician's Choice of Arizona) which is only something you can get through a dermatologist or a Spa like ours. It is OUTSTANDING!! I have seen more young girls and women of all ages come out looking amazing from this product! You might want to check that out OR we also carry a product called Dermalogica. That is targeted for younger skin (people from 18-35). It too is a great product.

You could be over drying your skin actually. It could be hormones. Have you consulted with a Dermatologist or Aesthician?

Hope this helps!!! :)

My daughter tried everything, even going to a dermatologist. Everything seemed to leave her face red & dry. Proactiv seems to work the best, although she does still have acne. We only buy the main product, but there are a lot of other products that they sell too. But that can get expensive.

Proactiv works, but I think my face isn't responding to the treatment anymore. It's about $19.95 for one order which isn't too bad. The low mark down could be due poor sales (in an economic view).
